Brouhaha
Conflicting reports on the Texas offer. With Wilbon's commitment, not sure it matters. If no offer from Texas, Avery will likely end up at Kansas. I definitely think we would take Wilbon and Avery given the chance to do so. Quote Link to comment

Thanks_Tom RR
Conflicting reports on the Texas offer. With Wilbon's commitment, not sure it matters. If no offer from Texas, Avery will likely end up at Kansas. Unless Stewart is having problems.... Good point. Not sure that Stewart would be an every down back anyway, more likely to help in the slot, return game, and the motion man on the fly sweep. With that said, Wilbon gives us our true RB for this class, and now, we are with Ameer, Cross (3rd downs), Taylor, Newby, Stewart (slot/RB), and Wilbon. If we stop recruiting at RB for this class and focus on OT and DE, I would not mind as we are already in on some solid RBs for next class, where we can take two. Would give us more space in that RB room while keeping depth at the position. Anyway, hair is also worth taking him. https://twitter.com/DallasCCHS/status/427474439458922497/photo/1 Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
247 still shows no offer from Texas. And he picked up 4 predictions for the Huskers as of yesterday. I have no idea what that really means but it looks good for us so what the hell. http://247sports.com/Player/Corey-Avery-19489 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Yeah, only Rivals is showing an offer. None of the other three are. The Crystal Ball predictions came in before Wilbon's commitment so that may change it some. Quote Link to comment
HuskerFowler
Wilbon is quoted as saying we are only going to take one back. I know we're trying to sell that hybrid position to Avery but it will be interesting to see if we do get him, if we try and turn him into a corner. Quote Link to comment
dylan
I would guess that we don't take him at this point. You can never have too many good athletes, particularly ones from top schools, but we've got limited spots and bigger needs at other positions. If we strike out with some others, I could see taking him, but I'd have him behind another DE, Frison at OT, a QB/ATH like parks, Pittman at DT, Minor at LB, and Brown at CB if there's any chance. So, take him if there's room, like if we knew Stewart wasn't going to make it, but I'd be surprised. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Several posts move to a new thread to discuss how many commit we will be taking in this class. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Crystal ball predictions pouring in for Kansas. Almost feel bad for this guy. Perhaps he's not quite at the top of anyone's list but he seems better than what Kansas deserves. Quote Link to comment
ADS
He'll do fine at any school he decides on, but Kansas is not the ideal situation. He will probably get the chance to play right away but on a garbage team. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Yeah, I would guess he'll have a good career there. But he probably won't win many ballgames. Quote Link to comment
RockyMountainOySker
The one thing Kansas has done well the last few years is run the football. I actually expect him to redshirt there. Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
Michael Brunitz predicted him going to Nebraska as of yesterday. FWIW Quote Link to comment
ADS
With Lockhart not making it, and Stewart still being a question mark we could take Avery and turn him in to a slot reciever. Quote Link to comment
