Never claimed to be a Heat fan.... More of a Lebron fan....

Lebron is a bitch. I'd have more respect for him if he didn't cry every time he doesn't get a call on offense. If he commits a foul, he cries. He a whiny baby. He gets sh#t handed to him because of who he is. Sure he's the best but i have no respect for him.

You must have never liked a true NBA superstar, because you just described everyone of them.... This preferential treatment you speak of is known as the Jordan Rules.... And NBA fans worship the ground he walked/walks on....

When did I ever say he was coming back? My point was if he was healthy, IMO the series would've been different.

as compared to last year when he did play and they still lost to Miami?

You hound him for posing a hypothetical and then you do the same thing yourself.

Of course last year's team even with Granger lost to the Heat, they were a far more inexperienced team with an even more inexperienced coach. This year's Pacers, even without Granger gave Miami everything it could handle and then some, pushing the series to the brink of 'win or go home.' Granger would've been another threat, he would've opened up the floor more and provide a defensive presence that wasn't there in some games.

If Granger would've been in this line up, the series would've been drastically different; and signs from what we know from the series don't point to the Heat winning it in fewer games.

Huge Spurs fan here. I'm glad they have another shot at #5 before Duncan, Pop and Manu ride off into the sunset. Can't wait for it. I'm going to enjoy every bit of it win or lose, but preferably a win.

Watching the Eastern Conference Finals was a chore though. Both teams were boring, especially the Heat. They brought it in Game 7 on the defensive end, but watching the Pacers on offense last night was junior high ugly! So many ugly turnovers, some caused and some self-inflicted.

I expect it to be an epic series going at least 6 or 7. Spurs will have to try to win it in 6 as it'll be darn near impossible to win Game 7 on any road venue in any sport for that matter. But if any team can do it, it's the Spurs. Go Spurs Go!

Well at least the Spurs are well rested. They needed that extra time off. In a couple years half their team is likely to be doing viagra commercials. I never thought I'd be rooting for the Spurs to win a championship...

The Spurs are an old squad, my favorite NBA myth.

Agreed 100%. Maybe in 2009 or 2010. But not the last two years.

Just to reiterate what I said a few weeks ago:

Spurs starters are 21-31-25-37-28.

Heat starters are 27-31-28-32-29.

Who's too old?

In order of most valuable to least:

Spurs: 31-37-21-28-25

Heat: 28-31-29-32-27

A 37 year old Duncan vs. a 28 year old LeBron is huge. Plus if the Spurs started the 35 year old Ginobli instead of the 25 year old Green - Ginoibili plays starters minutes - it looks a lot different.

The Pacers were never winning this series anyways, I don't understand the population's (not necessarily Huskerboard) disbelief....

The Pacers should have won the series. Vogel made a mistake in Game 1, and Haslem was unconscious in Game 3 and 5. They got lucky against a Granger-less team.

Granger? You think Granger would have made a difference in this series? Who are you going to sit down to play Granger? Paul George?..... If you want to play the what if game; than what "if" Wade was healthy? If he was himself this series wouldn't have been close.... As far as Vogel's mistake goes? There was no way Hibbert was getting over quick enough to defend Lebron's drive to the basket. The smaller, much faster Stevenson barely got there in time. Hibbert would have had to honor Bosh's jumpshot in the corner, so I don't see him being able to get to Lebron before he makes it to the basket.... Heat fan, or not, just try and enjoy Lebron, because you're watching greatness....

Granger plays the 3 and George moves to the 2. Sit Stevenson. Granger is an all star. As far as Hibbert coming over, his length allows him to play centerfield. I make Bosh beat me with a 20ft jumper over LeBrons layup all day everyday and twice on Sundays. And if all else fails, take the hard foul. If you watch the replay, George Hill had a chance to foul Lebron and make him hit free throws. Low percentage but Still a better option than allowing an uncontested layup.

Instead of going with "most valuable age" how about we just go all out and list overall age of the teams?

http://en.hispanosnb...eams/comparison

Spurs: 27.9 and 5.5 years experience.

Heat: 31.2 and 9.1 years experience.

Sure, the number of the Heat age might be inflated by Juwan Howard, but that's what the statistics say.

I believe those numbers are from the beginning of the year so they may not be "100%" accurate, but it definitely shows the myth that the Spurs are some old-bones team.

Their core has experience and age, yes, but they've stayed consistent on top giving Parker the reins and building around Parker and spreading the floor with their motion offense as opposed to "give the ball to Duncan and wait for the double team" offense of 10 years ago.

The Spurs have stayed consistently good because they have evolved. Pretty hard to do for such an "old" team since you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Duncan playing now is playing pretty darn well for a 37 year old compared to when he won the MVP in 2002-2003 when he was the focal point of the offense and touching the ball every possession.

A Spurs fan calling another team's brand of basketball boring? Hmmm..... :wasted I agree it should be a fantastic series. If the Heat can slow down Duncan they should win this series in 6 games, but I don't think they'll have a lot of success doing that, so I'll say Heat in 7.... Lebron (despite all of the haters) is the unquestioned best player in the NBA, and I think he'll be to much for the Spurs in the end. Wade's health will also be very important throughout the series....

Granger WAS an all-star prior to his injuries. I just don't see where Granger would fit into the starting lineup for the Pacers. I wouldn't want to take Stevenson's defensive skills off the court to start the game, when I have a similar player to Granger already on the court (George).... As a coach I could do without Stevenson's bone-headed plays though!! Granger would have improved their offensive output, but could have been a defensive liability, and most definitely would not have changed the series in my opinion (not as much as a healthy Wade would have)....

You're saying Manu isn't one of the 5 most valuable Spurs? Because his salary certainly indicates otherwise.

Yes, you read that right. The Heat are boring. On the fast break they raise the entertainment factor a little bit but not much. Flashy dunks, ally oops and isolation plays don't impress me.

Their half-court offense is awful to watch when they run isolation plays. So much standing around. The Pacers stood around a lot too and they got off a ton of bad shots when they weren't under the basket. That's why it was so tough to watch. The Spurs are constantly moving, setting screens and making great passes. Anyone is a threat to score besides DeJuan Blair, who never sees the court anymore. The Heat do a good job too when they move the ball to their shooters, but they rely on isolation plays from James and Wade a lot. I just can't stand isolation plays and poor spacing with no movement. Just like oops and dunks, in the end, the 2 points are the same. I like it when teams play together and move the ball around to make the defense rotate and find the best shot possible. Just a personal taste.

Another factor will be turnovers. When the Spurs turned it over to the Grizzlies and Warriors, it usually resulted in transition 3s or easy buckets at the end of the court. The Heat are the best team at feasting on teams mistakes. Thankfully the Spurs track record in moving the ball and having good ball security is really good so they need to negate the silly turnovers like the Pacers committed in Game 7 as much as possible to win.

LeBron is the best basketball player on the planet, no denying that. The Spurs will have to use the Kobe defense and let him go off points wise but make him a non-facilitator in terms of distributing the basketball. If the Heat role-players go off, the Heat will win. The Spurs will need to do a great job shutting down the role-players. LeBron will get his, and that's okay because he can't beat the Spurs by himself. Should be a great series.
