Fixes: When Food Isn't the Answer to Hunger

The Obama Administration's proposal to change an outdated food aid restriction would allow the United States to feed millions more people at the same cost.

What do you think? Good Idea? Bad Idea?

Food good. Money bad. Foreign warlords and bush league politicos find it more difficult to embezzle a shipload of rice than a pile of gold.

Bingo.....

In a perfect world, this program sounds great. BUT, when you start putting money in people's hands the chance for fraud goes through the roof. Heck, already we have jack azz world leaders of third world countries taking food and instead of giving it to thier people they sell it for profit. Why make it easier for them?

Now, obviously the problem that is discussed in the article needs to be addressed and these operations need to be more efficient. But, I don't think just giving people money to do what this describes is a good idea.
