knapplc
From Brian Christopherson, Lincoln JournalStar: I asked Pelini in the hallway about the key factors he considers when weighing the decision of potentially dismissing a player from the team. "Past history. And at the end of the day, we hold our guy to a pretty high standard. That's the way it's going to be as long as I'm the head football coach," Pelini said. "We're going to help kids grow. We're going to help them develop as human beings. But at the end of the day, you're accountable to not just yourself and your family, but my family, everybody associated with Nebraska football, and your teammates. "And if at any time ... a player is acting in such a way that it's taking away from any of that than they're not going to be a part of our program. It's not a right. It's a privilege to play for the University of Nebraska. That will never be compromised ever." LINK How do you like that, my man? 2 Quote Link to comment

As painful as it is year after year to be so close to a conference title and let it slip away, I'm always proud to say we are having success while running a clean program. It's only a matter of time until he puts it all together and gets that elusive conference title and/or BCS berth and/or NC. Switching gears, does anybody know when we start hearing stuff from the players? Quote Link to comment

Meaning they get some chances (assuming the transgression isn't too egregious) but repeat offenders won't be tolerated. Perfectly stated. Quote Link to comment
