There's a difference between running a variety of plays to take advantage of mismatches, and just trying to be unpredictable by running things we aren't any good at. How often will we run the option each game? So why use it? It's a play that takes a lot of practice and timing by the offense. It can't be a wrinkle. It's a staple of an offense.
