epocSoN
Listening to Bo so far this morning, it seems that he is taking this loss and current trend of the program just as seriously as the fans are. This may be the most honest response from Bo we have seen to date. I'm glad he is taking what happened Saturday seriously, and not avoiding it with coach speak as he has done in the past. I think Bo is really feeling the urgency for success here. I'll post some quotes as the Q&A starts. Hunter94
he knows his ass is on the line...his past 3 of 4 games have been complete failures. Quote Link to comment
tattooedhusker
I'm sure it sounds similar to the one after the OSU game last year. Same ol, same ol. Quote Link to comment
epocSoN
He talked a lot about pressure from the culture and fans, and how it effects him, the coaching staff and the players. They are being cognizant of that pressure, and doing whatever they can to ease pressure on the kids, but he said it was difficult. Quote Link to comment
MCAT800
I’m probably in the minority here but I have to “root” for the guy and I sincerely hope he can right the ship Quote Link to comment
presidentjlh
Nah, everyone wants to see Bo do well. He is a good guy, I definitely want him to be "the guy" for this team. Quote Link to comment
presidentjlh
The media's already having an aneurysm. So that's the one good thing about Bo. Everything he says gives the media fits, and when the media is upset, I'm happy. Quote Link to comment
epocSoN
I’m probably in the minority here but I have to “root” for the guy and I sincerely hope he can right the ship I don't think you are in the minority. I think the vast majority of Husker Nation likes Bo as a person, and a mentor for these kids. But the bottom line is that he doesn't consistently win important games, and when you are losing games, being a great person doesn't buy you a ton of slack. 4 Quote Link to comment
epocSoN
What we do offensively works, we didn't call a lot and we didn't execute what we ran. A lot of times we didn't take advantage of numerous opportunities. Quote Link to comment
robsker
I’m probably in the minority here but I have to “root” for the guy and I sincerely hope he can right the ship you are in no minority --- probably w/o exception every poster here wants Bo to right the ship. There are those who think it unlikely (like me) and thus advocate for a coaching change thinking that "righting the ship" is more probable under someone else (again like me). But everyone here --- I assume --- would rather see the ship righted sooner rather than later --- no matter who is in charge. Quote Link to comment
MLB 51
I’m probably in the minority here but I have to “root” for the guy and I sincerely hope he can right the ship A lot of us feel the same way. I would much rather see him be successful instead of us enduring another coaching change. Quote Link to comment
True2tRA
I like what I'm hearing about paring down the offense during the week. Especially the part about no point in doing it if we can't execute it. Quote Link to comment
presidentjlh
All in all, press conferences are just words either way. I don't put my stock into them. 1 Quote Link to comment
epocSoN
I thought at times in the first half we did a lot of good thing defensively. For whatever reason in the second half, they didn't change much and we didn't change much. We didn't execute, got on our heels and played passively and non-aggressively. It was as much of a mental thing as a physical thing Quote Link to comment
presidentjlh
I do admittedly grow weary of the word "execute", and by weary, I mean, "please never say it again it is an actual assault on my ears." 1 Quote Link to comment
