grandpasknee
I think Taylor gets the start if he's healthy for obvious reasons. Unless of course in practice over the next couple weeks Taylor feels the pressure and pushes too hard, and Armstrong continues to light it up. But if Taylor shows any kind of hesitance early, it's time. What I was most impressed with in Armstrong was his swagger and savy in the pass game. He got the ball and would see something and drop the ball in. That pass up the boundry to Enunwa, he put total trust in Enunwa to make that play, and that's what our qb's have to do with this receiving core. Fit it in there with attitude. Let our guys make plays for you. FCS team or not, that was an incredible pass to Enunwa. No team in the nation can defend that sh#t. That's what Aaron Murray did to us in the bowl last year. Armstrong touch and feel is obviously light years ahead of Taylors. And, and.........he still has the running threat. I'm sorry folks that dont yet feel this way, but I feel it's time for Bo to unhitch the wagon and hook up to Armstrong. Our offense is going to have to outscore people this year week in, week out. I havent seen anything out of Taylor's offense this year that suggests we can do it. I saw it today. The fluidity, the aggressiveness of attacking the D. It was all there. Actually, I think that was part of his problem in the UCLA game. Bo has said that Tommy A has been doing really well in practice the "last few weeks" I think Taylor felt the pressure already and was looking over his shoulder. Also agree...Taylor will get the start if he is mostly healthy...but he has a much shorter leash now, after today. Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
God I've been as critical as anyone considering the play of Taylor yet here I am defending him to guys that probably have 20+ national titles on their NCAA dynasties. It was one game. You are the fan that gets ubber geeked after spring game performances to, aren't you???? I get über geeked when I see a real QB with talent. Tommy is that QB. Stanton may also be that QB. So obviously you creamed your pants watching Brion a couple our years ago. And thus must be the greatest qb evaluator ever. You also have to be the poster from husker max. Enough said. Quote Link to comment
lo country
Why is there so much support for Armstrong? He played against an FCS team, I don't get it. The last time we had a rookie QB play against SDSU- NU scored 17 points- that was Taylor Martinez A little better today against what most feel is a better SDSU team than the last one we faced With a much better D................ <img class="UMSRatingIcon" id="ums_img_tooltip" /> Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
guys that probably have 20+ national titles on their NCAA dynasties. It's 8, in 22 years.. But that's only becuase I spent the first 7 years as a created cupcake in the MAC. Quote Link to comment
BRV920
I thought both guys looked great today but I'm not about to name Armstrong the starter. I think he has earned a series or two in games and we will see what he is capable of. It's pretty easy to look comfortable back there when you have 10 seconds to throw. See what he does in the face of a MSU blitz. Quote Link to comment

I've thought this as an issue since day one for him. You cant allow yourself to feel pressure. You have to have the mental capacity to perform one way or another. In that aspect, Taylor has reached his peak, if not regressed a bit altogether. But I hope he proves me wrong. I hate throwing him under the bus as I feel like I'm doing right now. He deserves better. Quote Link to comment

So lets see, you've mentioned my hard on and my orgasm.... Why are you so fixated on my junk? I did not "cream my pants" watching Brion. He was decent, and I'd hoped he would step up his game. But he did not look light years ahead of Taylor. Quote Link to comment
The Dude
Martinez shouldn't even be considered again until he's 100% healthy. Without his explosiveness he's our 3rd best QB. Quote Link to comment

BRV920
You mean lead the team on a game winning drive with six seconds left? You forgot that part. Quote Link to comment
beanman
You mean lead the team on a game winning drive with six seconds left? You forgot that part. Already mentioned that above butt-wipe. We never should have been behind. He was a big part of that deficit we were in. Quote Link to comment
Zaimejs
Why is there so much support for Armstrong? He played against an FCS team, I don't get it. Because he led the team with confidence, looked in control even on his first career starting drive. He can throw, he can run(and not just in a straight line). The o line seemed to gel more. I wasn't cringing expecting a fumble on every snap. He didn't seem to feel the need to carry the offense, it was distributed to everyone. On and on and on. I think it would be harder to argue why Taylor should start. Other than stats. The intangibles have never been there with Taylor, prob never will. I would rather see tommy grow and make mistakes this year than sit back and wait for our 5 year senior qb to make them. I like TM, but he would not be starting at many other fbs teams as a qb. QFT! Very niceley said. I didn't even see the game yet, but from what I heard... yes. Quote Link to comment
