jamrinelli
I would love to see NW beat OSU tonight, but I would really like to see NW with a loss in conference play! Quote Link to comment
iowahuskers
maybe the best first half we've played this year? Probably the most complete half as a team this year. Quote Link to comment
Thanks_Tom RR
The defense was playing hard. Quote Link to comment

HuskerfaninOkieland
maybe the best first half we've played this year? Does seem to be the case especially on the defensive side Quote Link to comment
True2tRA
Take a knee and let's go in. 23-5 Nice start! I hope we can make whatever changes we need to make and come out strong for the second half. Right in. Great first half. Let's build on it. Quote Link to comment
The King
The great old man that is Lou Holtz "they are playing better than they did with martinez" Quote Link to comment
NUance
maybe the best first half we've played this year? Probably the most complete half as a team this year. yeah 1st half UCLA was pretty good too. Against a MUCH better team. But people forget, due to the 28 point third quarter. Quote Link to comment
Comish
OK Beck, remember what NOT to call this time when Imani's in there Is the Amani vs Ameer decision Ron Brown's or Tim Becks? Whoever made the call is not thinking clearly. Amani doesn't seem to be running full speed ahead today (except for the TD). Seems more tentative than before. Quote Link to comment
Stumpy1
But we are only playing Illinois. They clearly suck. Quote Link to comment
Comish
Also appears the defense is tackling almost exclusively around the shoulder pads today............?? Quote Link to comment
Hercules
Why are people blaming Beck for the safety? That makes no sense. Cross is the one who ran back into his own end zone. That has nothing to do with playcalling, it's just a boneheaded mistake. Quote Link to comment

NUance
But we are only playing Illinois. They clearly suck. Well, there is a bit of truth to this. I doubt these guys could hang within four TDs of tOSU or Wisconsin. Or probably Michigan. OTOH, Illinois might be about on par with Iowa this year. Probably better than Minnesota and Purdue. I read that on offense, the position coaches are given a lot of latitude with these decisions. It might've been something like they talk about it over the course of the week but on Gameday, any particular play, it's the position coaches call. Also read that Bo's responsible for the substitutions on defense. But yeah, like what we did with the run up the gut and kneeldown on that last drive? That's coachin'! That's adjustments And on the safety, it was definitely on Cross for going backwards, but what were they looking for there? He struggles moving laterally compared to the other backs. On 3rd and 11 if we're not going to try for a 1st down at all, just run up the middle for some safe yards. Quote Link to comment
