Alex 4.0
This could be some of the worst commentary work i have ever heard, i am close to just muting this game. (Sorry just venting, wondering if anyone else is finding this unbearable to listen to) Quote Link to comment
DaveH
I'm not really paying attention that much to the commentary. At least lushberger isn't doing it. Quote Link to comment
Alex 4.0
After seeing this game i am starting to think that Young might wanna jet for the NFL. Along White from USC. Hopefully this will help us out next year if this is the case. Quote Link to comment
DaveH
Does the "football move" rule appy in College? As in for a catch and fumble to be ruled a fumble, the player must possess the ball and make a "football move"? Quote Link to comment
pigsonthewing
its going to be interesting to see how ESPN is gonna spin this when their precious USC just got beat by a Big XII school.. Quote Link to comment
kc_husker
Keith Jackson god bless his heart has to go. He is like Pat Sumerall of the NFL. Quote Link to comment
HSKRNOKC
As for the game. I think when USC went for it on fourth down towards the end and didn't get it. That was a HUGE mistake. You are ahead and you get greedy? Take the punt, give them a long field. Carroll screwed up IMO. Quote Link to comment

White was bruising the Texas defense for big gains the whole game. What was there to make USC think he couldn't get two yards? A first down and the game is over basically. Kudos to the texas defense for stepping up big time. Quote Link to comment

I remember NU had something similar happen in the 95 Orange Bowl, I think that Gilman caught a pass from Brook, but didnt make "a football move," dropped the ball, but it was called incomplete. Red Snow Sword: Husker Sentinel
Props to Dan Fouts, though, for his "Bush Push" comment.   I liked that one Quote Link to comment

Just my thoughts. Quote Link to comment

Giving them back the ball was the last thing they needed, or wanted, to do. Quote Link to comment

When young scored there was 19 seconds left. ( Maybe time would have ran out on them). It was 4th down when VY scored. ( They werent stopping them . Maybe slowing them down enough ). I guess its a darned if you do , darned if you dont. I do see your point though. Quote Link to comment
gamecocks
Going for it was the right call, cuz USC knew that their offense was the way that they were going to win the game. There was no way USC was going to stop Vince Young no matter how far Texas' offense had to go. Quote Link to comment
HSKRNOKC
Ok, going for it (might) have been the right call. But UT knew who was going to get the ball. They keyed on White with Bush on the sidelines. Wrong play call at least. I know that he had been eating them up between the tackles all night. But that was with the element of surprise. No surprise there when they knew the play before it was run. Quote Link to comment
