Warrior10
I'm with ya Huskershark. Cross is very capable. He looked slimmer and a bit quicker. Still that bruiser mentality though, and the guys built like a Mack truck. Why couldn't he be an every down back? I respect you guy's opinions and I agree he LOOKS slimmer, quicker and like a "Mack truck". But against quality opponents he didn't RUN slimmer, quicker and like a Mack truck. I understand that at his body type he probably will never be "quick and fast", but his vision (runs into the backs of our oline a lot and misses some huge holes) and his power (imo he doesn't run with near the power his body would let him because he runs so upright) need to improve to be an every down back. I think he runs the most powerful at the goal line because he knows his only job is to get that 2 yards into the endzone. Quote Link to comment
Redux
Agree. Cross is a dangerous redzone back. The worst part of this is that if we use abdullah to gain 80 yards Cross gets the glory with a two yard carry. Will really handicap A Doubles stats on the year if were seriously thinking he is a Heisman contender. He could be. But hes gotta be healthy down the stretch and weve gotta win no less than 11games Quote Link to comment
In the Deed the Glory
If he gets more carries, some of these same people will be complaining that we aren't giving Ameer enough touches. Quote Link to comment
Redux
Id like to see us be multiple with the running backs we have. Put two on the field and confuse the defense on whose getting the carry. Quote Link to comment
Bowfin
Last time I worried about a good running back not getting enough touches, Burkhead went down and Abdullah got all the touches he could take...and maybe a few more. Cross is never more than one play away from getting used and abused like a rented mule in the meat grinder of the B1G, so be careful for what you wish. Quote Link to comment

Unsure why we continually ride one guy ino the ground. I know you give it to "the man", but damn AA got flat worn out last year. We use Newby in 2 key games with 2 key fumbles. Had he and Cross gotten meaningful touches in the first games and continued throughout B1G play, I would like to think we would have more experienced guys, better players and AA much fresher down the stretch. Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
Give Cross more Carries. Give the tight ends more catches. Get the fullbacks the ball. That covers it right????? Still will be curious as to where these extra plays during a game will come from, or who people think should get less to get these positions addressed Quote Link to comment

Still will be curious as to where these extra plays during a game will come from, or who people think should get less to get these positions addressed I think if we developed an identity instead of this multiple BS Beck continues to field (and Bo allows), things would work themselves out. Are we a power team? Finesse? Who the hell knows. We have the horses to run power all day. Do this with some play action passing. As much a I disliked Cally. he knew you can actually throw to a RB on a designed play. Since you mentioned TE's. They have become completely absent under Beck (and Bo). UGA killed us with the TE passes as did about every team we played. I figure a guy getting paid $750K would realize it is ok to actually get them the ball on primary routes. I have high hopes for Carter, but then I did for McNeil (32 receptions, 28 and then 19 IIRC as he was moved to "the adjuster") and Reed......... Odd that other teams have talent to burn at the skill positions yet the ball gets distributed well. Just my .02 Quote Link to comment
