Landlord
Season openers are always slow for the much needed exposition and establishing starting points. It was very good as far as season openers go. 1 Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Thinking back to what Enhance said. Episode 2 was (mostly) good. Pretty intense. The battle scene was stellar. I wonder if at some point, though, I just won't have the stomach any more for bad things happening to good people Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Lol. This tweet summary of the episode is great. H/T https://www.vox.com/culture/2017/7/25/16026386/game-of-thrones-greyscale-cure-jorah-mormont Quote Link to comment

I wonder if at some point, though, I just won't have the stomach any more for bad things happening to good people I agree. I mean, hasn't Cersei won enough already? She has to kidnap these people now? They better not die. I don't even particularly care about any of them but she's had 80% of the good people killed already, why feed the character more? WE GET IT. Although Jaime doesn't get it yet and I don't think he's going to stay on her side. Maybe he needs to see Cersei's bodyguard torturing someone to figure things out. Other than trying to murder a child, he's a pretty good dude. 1 Quote Link to comment
GSG
Queen slayer? Look where they're standing! Jaime = Valonqar ???? Quote Link to comment
ZRod
See, I don't read the books, and they never talk about these prophecies in the show so I had no clue that was a thing. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing though. Quote Link to comment
teachercd
I love the show but can still only name like 6 people in it... Quote Link to comment

Moiraine
Why what happened the past 2 episodes happened, from a storytelling perspective I was annoyed last week wondering why Cersei's character needed to be fed more victims. We know all we need to know about her. It's time for the good guys to starting winning some. Now this week I was annoyed yet again. But then I started thinking about how the story will end. It's GoT so anything could happen but I think most people think Dany will likely end up helping Jon defeat the white walkers and that Cersei will be destroyed. But when it comes to storytelling the only satisfying way for Cersei to be destroyed is for it to be the Starks that do it. Dany's an important character, but this story is about the Starks and the Lannisters. That's how it started and should be how it ends. It would not be satisfying to have Dany swoop in with her dominant forces and take Cersei out. With Dany's forces now weakened she really does need allies from the north if she's ever going to get the throne. I think it will be her and Jon defeating the white walkers and her and Jon defeating Cersei. Having her new allies defeated, and possibly with few ships and few unsullied left, will help push the 2 characters closer together. Quote Link to comment

Mike Mcdee
Oh my god, Get it together, Team Dany. They need to take away all of her pieces in order to force her hand to join with Jon in the North. You can't have her come in and be too over powered. I think she is going to be re-enacting the "Field of Fire" where she is going to roast some folks, steal some gold from Cersei, and possibly get a prisoner of her own. Quote Link to comment
