I have mutiple people telling me we can't win out and beat Minne, Whisky and Iowa.

Recommended Posts

If the team plays to its potential every game, I think it is possible. But we have seen that for 1/4 of football this year. I do not see us winning out. The odds are most likely the same as going 9-3. Just really nothing to base high hopes or dread on. Schedule has been to weak, we have played down to our opponents level several times.

Who knows? Just hope the kids keep winning.

I think its based on performance whereas we are looking at potential. We have the talent and athletes, but do we have the capability? Had we started out the 1st Q against MSU like we finished the last 12 minutes, different ball game. The difference? Play calling and switching OL. Down the stretch, do the staff coach to the best of their abilities? Do the players put in the study time and "mental prep"? Does Beck finally "not throw too much and complicate things?"

I have said it all year, it boils down to Beck and his play calling. He calls to the strengths of this team i.e. power run, PA, vertical passing we stand a great chance t win. He calls swing passes, screens to the flats, Cross on a toss sweep, etc.....Chalk up another loss and another excuse......

We did it in 2012 with a shell of the talent that we have this year.

We can.

We did what in 2012? We sure didn't go 11-1 or 12-1.

BTW, I agree that we "can", but I'll need to see it before I believe it.

I think much will depend on the health of Ameer. Our backup RB's are good but not at AA's level. He always has/had the potential to turn nothing into something and a little into a lot. If he can't go or sees limited action, the slack will have to be picked up somewhere else. I'm not saying we can't/won't win the final three games. I just wish we had our best weapon at full strength.

I think it's most Husker fans way to protect themselves just in case. Seriously, I think it's a coping mechanism..........

Yeah pretty much. After the bowl I said there is no excuse for not winning 11 or more games. Then the season got closer and I thought how underrated our schedule was difficulty wise. Now we are towards the bitter end of it and we should hit 11-1 with relative ease but I dont really expect to. I feel we will inexplicably lose one for no good reason. My bet is Minnysoda since Im going to it.

We go down this road every year. WE are going to win the CCG, the MNC. Lots of coach speak every year.

I must admit this year seems different to me. Not a lot. But different in the attitude of Bo. He seems more at ease, like he knows something he didn't before. He seems more confident, than defiant.

But we always seem to muster up that game, where you go WHY!!!!. McNeese may have been that game, I am leaning that way.

This team has another week to heal up, prepare for what is going to be the hardest hitting game we have faced so far. They have been the bullies, and they will continue that approach. Take the hit and keep on coming. These kids have shown that ability this year. We have won games ugly I guess, but none other than McNeese was with a stroke of luck. Maybe this is the year the ball bounces our way the rest of the year. I truly would like to see us have another chance at Michigan State. This program needs that victory badly. 3 wins and CCG win would help us on all fronts.

I am not sure we are the hands down better team. But we seem to have players this year that do not quit, give up. We may have grown a lot in that, and I think it is due to Bo's growth, his demeanor, his confidence. Your leader has to be in control, he flies this ship, and I think he has improved on that.

I know some will be destroyed if we lose this or any of the next three. If, and I expect to, we see the last quarter team of MSU, I will be extremely happy with this season, win or lose the rest of them. I think Bo is close to turning the corner. He has three games to get it done. I am hoping it happens, just like all the rest of you. And trust me on this, after meeting Polo, no one in the world wants to be wrong about this more than him. He is DieHard Nebraska, an alum, an athlete, and a very smart man.

For Nebraska's sake I hope all of us, that have that doubt, the questions, the other shoe to fall feelings, are shown what Nebraska can do in these last three games.

We are all Husker fans, you know we are or we would not spend the hours that we do reading and posting about something we have absolutely no control of. Undying love for the program, the university and the state. US!!!!!

Yeah, I think we could go 11-1 or 12-1. Will we....your guess is as good as mine?

I could see the defense getting really good, while the offense stops shooting themselves in the foot and gets the most out of our best players.

Do you think Ohio State beating Sparty will hurt our playoff chances?

Undeniably. Sparty would be in the top 6 for sure if they win out thus making them a better win. Plus we've got the revenge factor working for us.

Yep, no doubt about that, I want MSU to win so if we do make it to Indy, we have a chance to avenge our loss and get into the playoffs by beating a Top 5 team.

If we get by Wis and its a big if. We win out. I sure hope like all Cornhusker fans, we start to be the team we were before Bill C. Loved this program since I was in grade school, still do always will.

GBR!!!

With any luck the chips will fall right for MSU to actually be in the top 4 for the CCG. What better way could we possibly finish the season than by knocking a team out of the playoff?

I think Nebraska will win out. Sad thing is you're in a down Big 10 conference and your strength of schedule will prevent you from getting into the final 4. I wish you would of stayed in the Big 12. You'd be in a much better position by playing better teams and having a chance at the CFB playoff. The Big 12 currently has TCU, KSU and Baylor still alive for the playoff.

TCU Baylor and KSU could all knock eachother out of contention, one for sure tonight. Lack of a title game will hurt the eventual champs chances. IF one of them wins out they are probably in though.

Definitely better for us - and the B1G - if MSU wins. But OSU will get a good bump if they win and, if both of us win out, the B1G CCG will easily be a Top 10 matchup with the winner having a good case.

  • Beck would have to come up with three consecutive game plans that play to Ameer's running and not Armstrong's passing.
  • The offensive line has to find some spark somewhere.
  • We will have to find a way to defend against a quarterback that rolls out with a running back / tight end cutting across on the same side.

One game at a time, though. We can't beat all three at once, but we certainly have the talent to do it, I don't know if we have the will and the discipline.

I tell them they're wrong. Am I delusional or do you think we can go 11-1 in the regular season? I really think we can go 12-1 and beat Sparty or tOSU on a neutral field.

Wisky will be a great test of this (if they choose to not jet sweep us to death). IIRC, their leading receivers are the TE and RB.

The koolaid drinker in me says "Hell Ya!!! We can win out!!!" But the old fart realist in me says that is a pretty tough row to hoe. We could win out, and we could just as easily go 1 win, 2 losses these last three games. If we win out, then I'll finally shake off the ghost of the past 15 years and become a full believer again. Either way, I'm Husker Red regardless.

Absolutely no reason we cant win out. Just sloppy play and miscues holding us back.

sloppy play and miscues , you are assuming they are going away any time soon ? Consistency the good kind seems elusive with this staff. Am I wrong?

No. We need to take each team seriously and prepare as such. Playing like we did the last two will not win us the next three. Wiscy is a hostile road game. Minny is crisp and beat us last year. Iowa doesnt wanna lose the last regular season game or the trophy.

yea minnysoda looks absolutely horrible! wisky up by three possessions. Absolutely terrible teams. Iowa not looking so good, but they seem to find a way to play us tough.

Sure bet, I would wager my house and my car on your predictions. Not a chance of a slip up, we never have, have we?

Your guarantees have grown tiresome, and normally wrong.

How many games have we lost? None since I'be been here. And there have been multiple upsets. We were 19 when I came here and are now 13 and will most likely move up by not even playing today while we heal and rest up.

No need to be rude, guys excited.

We can win out if we play well. Being pessimistic about our chances is just as tiresome as overlooking our opponents.

I am not pessimistic about anything. Minnesota is playing one heck of a game. Beat us last year. Kill is a great coach. Wisconsin is kicking butt. Respect your opponents.

Iowa is going down, but I remind you they have played us tough the last two years and beating us in our own house. Who knows what will happen.

I am happy as hell that both Wisconsin and Minnesota are playing well. It is exactly what this conference needs. VAST IMPROVEMENT.

But anyone thinking we just waltz in and beat any of the three, I think are barking up the wrong tree. It will be a tough fight to win these games.

People making comments like that just Piss me off. If your so sure of the out come, put some money up on it. It is easy as hell to say things like that, Oh I was wrong, sorry.

I think we have a chance of winning out, mostly depending on Tommy and Beck. But I would not be the least surprised to see us lose all three either. We have a history of losing the games that are important and ending 9-4. Do not think that will happen this year, but history indicates it will.
