If an SEC coach had done what Tressel did would it be a big deal? From what I've read and watching the 30 for 30 doc it seems he's mostly guilty of not narcing on his players. Maybe Nebraska's culture is different, maybe they give him some guide lines he must adhere to. The guy can coach and that's obvious, its not like he did some of the things that happened at Penn State or even Miami. In my opinion he would be a great hire and a upgrade

 

How about a coach locking up a gun used in a possible felony by a player in his safe? How about tampering with witnesses in an investigation against a player? Those were all overlooked a couple of decades ago.

Isn't Tressel a cheater? Shouldn't cheaters be banned from coaching in the NCAA? Besides that, Tressel had all the recruiting power in the world in over-populated Ohio,....what makes you think he could recruit out here?

These Vegas guys are smart. They don't even have Tressel on the board. So, basically every dollar bet on the rest of these guys is 100% profit. Unless there's a field bet. If there's a field bet that's where my money would be going.

Umm...he seemed to do pretty well at tOSU. Yes, Ohio is a good recruiting area, but guess what, he's from there and his name carries a lot of weight so he could easily still recruit very well there.

 

Should cheaters be banned by the NCAA? That's almost laughable. The NCAA is useless. Also, with all the talk about players getting paid now and all the talk of how players should be able to earn money, the things that happened under him at OSU doesn't look like sh#t. Pretty soon the things that happened at OSU will probably be legal.

1. Yeah he got in trouble with the NCAA. But if you think he was the puppet master covering that up, think again. Gordon Gee, Gene Smith and their boosters would have done anything to protect football.

2. No he shouldn't be perma banned from the NCAA. If Miami gets to keep playing, well then...

3. A good coach can recruit anywhere and star ratings/class rankings don't mean a thing. It's all about building an identity, recruit to that, then develop the players.
