Mavric
I would think keeping at least a couple guys would go a long ways towards easing the currently players minds. Smoother transition is good for everyone. Especially Warren who is as tied to Pelini (in terms of how long he's been here). How valuable is a smooth transition? At what cost, I mean? We tired that with Watson and it could be argued it set us back overall. Much different situations. I'm sure the players liked Cally to some extent but basically everyone knew he was gone. I really don't think the players expected this one. Also, keeping position coaches is much different than keeping coordinators. Quote Link to comment
TheSker
Based on the issues of the past 15 years or so, and certainly true under Pelini.......the OL coach will be a critical one for Riley. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirts007
For those that say there is no way that Scott frost will come here as OC....just really think about what you just said after this morning. Quote Link to comment

BIGREDIOWAN
How do you not hire Orgeron if he's interested? Quote Link to comment

I think if Orgeron stepped onto campus, the Defense will hear a new voice with respect and energy....and work together to become the Blackshirts again. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Michael A. Rose @WhoIsMikeRose 23m23 minutes ago Not sure if Coach O is coming, but NOBODY recruited MR15 better than USC where Coach O was on the staff. They recruited the entire family. Quote Link to comment
gtsum2
Coach O would be a fantastic pickup...seems his teams thought very highly of him and by all accounts is a world class recruiter...something we could certainly use Quote Link to comment
JTrain
I don't think Frost is unrealistic at all. His dream job is HC of Nebraska. Being the OC/AHC now would put him in perfect position to make that happen in 5-8 years. Plus we could easily offer 750,000 to him which would be a huge pay raise. Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
How do you not hire Orgeron if he's interested? It's not quite that easy. Yes, Ed O may be interested, but do we know if Riley has any type of relationship with him? Head coaches typically like to hire coaches they are familiar with and have relationships with. Hiring complete strangers is not something they usually do. Now, maybe Riley got to know Ed O while Ed O was at USC, but who really knows at this point. I just don't want people to be pissed if Ed O isn't hired. Quote Link to comment

Then we could keep Kaz & Warren and get a good LB coach. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Kaz and Orgeron both coach DLine so that would be interesting. Considering Orgeron doesn't have a job currently and still wants to coach, I would think he would be interested in several jobs that might be open. Quote Link to comment

TITANIC VS LUSITANIA
If Orgeron came here you know he would bolt as soon as that USC position came open. He needs a stepping stone right now and this is probably a good route for him. you know he would not be here long term. Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
OSU's play by play guy was on 1480. Said he anticipates 8 of Riley's current staff togo with him including the DB coach. I hope this isn't the final outcome. Quote Link to comment
