Mavric
We currently have 14 commits. Frost says the number is 20. I think we're looking for some combination of 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 2 OTs, 2 DLs and 2 DBs. That's 9 positions for 6 spots - though we could sign 8 more at the moment. But Mapieu and Smith are question marks academically so those numbers may depend on how they do. Jurgens may also end up at LB which might explain why we're still looking for TEs and help fill the numbers at LB. Current Scholarships/Commits QB - 1 - ADRIAN MARTINEZ RB - 2 - JUCO GREG BELL, Javian Hawkins WR - 3-4 - JUCO JARON WOODYARD, JUSTIN McGRIFF, KATERIAN LeGRONE, Dominick Watt TE - 1-2 - CAMERON JURGENS, Messiah Swinson OT - 1-2 - Hamilton Hall OG/C - 1 - WILL FARNIOK NT - 1-2 - MASRY MAPIEU, Michael Thompson DE - 2 - TATE WILDEMAN, Daniel Carson LB - 2-3 - DAVID ALSTON, JUCO WILL HONAS, Lavontae Jean-Baptiste CB - 1-2 - JUCO DEONTAI WILLIAMS, Braxton Clark S - 2-3 - CJ SMITH, Cam'ron Jones K - 1 - BARRET PICKERING ATH - Miles Jones 2 Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
Will be interesting to see how they fill the final few spots. Also a good time to really start building next years class now. Quote Link to comment
Red Five
Not NU related, but this is a Petrino like move. All of these kids should be released from their LOIs. 1 Quote Link to comment

Mavric
He has Avery Anderson at corner. Anderson was recruited as a safety and has been flip-flopped between safety and corner since he got here. I think he's a safety (if he ever really contributes). Other than that it's Jackson, Lee and Bootle. That's brutal. Though I'm not sure how much I blame Dante Williams. Quote Link to comment

In today's game you need 8-10 CBs on scholarship at minimum Edited December 22, 2017 by Nebfanatic Quote Link to comment

Blades was good enough to possibly take a risk on but they should have found another in case he didn't qualify which in the end he obviously didn't. We know Donte could recruit quality talent, but he needed to take more volume to stabilize the room that first year I feel like. He had more than enough time for that. Juco help coming and a few more pieces from hopefully making that position group stronger. Edited December 22, 2017 by spurs1990 Quote Link to comment

Also, if Vedral comes here he will definitely get one, so that would be twenty-two scholarships coming in. I would like this because a few guys will probably leave at Lb and Qb after spring ball. I have not included either Vedral or Bryant. We'll see if anyone leaves before the second semester starts. 1 Quote Link to comment

Bigger schools have been scared off by his grades and uncertainty if he will qualify academically. Bryant has been told that he would get an offer if his grades get in order. He is a good enough athlete to play RB or DB at the college level, although DB would probably be his best position. 1 Quote Link to comment
