BIGREDIOWAN
With us approaching bulking season what are your winter goals and what would you like to work on over the winter? For me I'm currently at 204 lbs and would like to get up to 220 to 225 lbs and keep my body fat around 18%. I'm also going to work hard on strength in the major lifts, bench, squat, deadlifts, etc and try and get my overall strength gains up there and push myself hard this winter in those areas. What are the goals for you this winter? Quote Link to comment
ZRod
Still got a month before I can think about not cutting again. But I'll be focusing on strength gains. I'm tired of being stuck at the same level for all my core lifts. 1 Quote Link to comment
DaveH
I don't really subscribe to the cut\bulk season, so I guess my goals are still the same. Gain weight at ~2 pounds a month (this will probably come and go over time). Also, get stronger over a /long/ period of time using the three big lifts and their variants while maintaining a reasonable amount of body fat and conditioning. Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
Why is winter considered bulking season? Because no one wants to cut over Thanksgiving and Christmas? Quote Link to comment
DaveH
Why is winter considered bulking season? Because no one wants to cut over Thanksgiving and Christmas? I think that's part of it. The other part could be the opposite of "sun's out, guns out".. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Because you are certainly gaining some weight during the winter, not necessarily cutting weight or fat. Generally you aren't going to the pool and things like that, at least if you live in the snowy parts of the US. Quote Link to comment
ScottyIce
What would you recommend if every time I take my pre-workout, I have a bloody stool? I'll hang up and listen. 2 Quote Link to comment

Stumpy1
I'm not much into the bulking season either. I would rather eat clean all year long but just increase the amount of food you take in and drop your cardio down to maybe once a week for the winter months. Quote Link to comment
huskerfan333157
Your body naturally gains fat during winter months hence why most gym rats bulk during winter. Quote Link to comment

Atbone95
As bulking season starts to end... what methods have people found the best to aid in cutting? Any program someone has followed and been super successful with? I bulked all winter, I know the muscle is there because I'm stronger, but there just might still be a slight layer over top of it Quote Link to comment

This 1) stops you from feeling hungry because you're eating less, and 2) keeps your metabolism higher throughout the day. 1 Quote Link to comment
