That graphic seems to have some of the facts, but is slightly misleading. Joseph Smith was accused, but it sounds like he wasn't convicted for lack of evidence. The fellow who took him to court was a cousin of a woman that Smith had romantic designs on. The woman's family did not approve of Joseph Smith. Also, Joseph Smith had worked for the woman's father as a seer in attempt to find some treasure the guy was looking for. LINK

The whole thing sounds sort of whacky.

If I recall correctly, Joseph Smith, near the end, was corralled by some of his disgruntled followers as he'd been engaging in various sorts of shady biz(including mucho sexual misconduct) for years. He ended up in the pokey where the angry mob stormed the place and shot ol' Smokin' Joe in the back a few times and killed him. So that's your Mormon "Saint".

I once started to check out Mormonism just to see what they believed and my query was stopped abruptly by discovering that they believed married couples who exhibited "proper fidelity" in their corporal lives would inherit a planet of their very own in the after life--sorta like Muslim turr'ists inherit tons of hot virgins, I s'pose. Religions always have to provide "perks" to keep people believin'.

Mitt Romney is another interesting character. Turns out his familial predecessors were run out of the Mormon Church in Utah and fled to Mejico where they promptly started biz with the "El Chapos" of the day, that is, they became drug runners and that's how they built their fortune. Joe Kennedy was a bootlegger, Prescott Bush financed the Nazis, Herbert Hoover invested in USSR oil and land, and on and on until this day where the country seems hell bent on putting a literal casino capitalist(DJ Donald) into the highest office.

Religion, politics, corruption, they go together like hand and glove.

That Memphis fight was something else. I have friends who are members of the church and who attended BYU. It's a strict place like Liberty or Oral Roberts and is know for dress codes and a campus atmosphere straight out of Leave it to Beaver. I can't help but wonder if a lot of the players in the fracas were out and out church members, or who were simply brought in to play football(i.e.-Jim McMahon is Catholic and attended BYU) BYU is a good team and day in and day out, they can just about surprise anyone they play. Loved how they zinged Texas a few years back. It was an upset but I saw that one coming.
