Nebraska released the 2016 Baseball schedule

 

Notes about 2016 Schedule

 

- 12 Games against teams in 2015 NCAA Tournament (3 at College of Charleston, 3 vs. Illinois, 3 at Michigan, 3 vs. Indiana

- Nebraska's trip to East Lansing will be the second times since Nebraska joined the Big Ten they will play there. The two teams have never met in Lincoln. They have met six times, three of those coming in the Big Ten Tournament.

- For the first time since 2010 Nebraska won't play a non-conference game against a team that played in the College World Series the previous year.

- Nebraska will play in the inagural Tony Gwynn Classic, an eight-team tournament in San Diego. Nebraska will play either Tulane or Arizona on Saturday after a non-tournament game against San Diego. Nebraska will also play a game against a team from the other side of the bracket which includes: Kentucky, UC Santa Barbara, Bryant and San Diego State

- Nebraska will play Kansas at Kauffman Stadium!

- Nebraska will play a three-game series against Wichita State, the only other three-game series happened in 1983

- Nebraska will end the season with seven straight home games. The last time Nebraska hosted seven or more home games to end a season was in 2009 when they hosted 11 straight to end the season.
