Elf
I've always liked Eichorst, and thought the sudden rush to paint him as the villain was far beyond premature. I'm not saying I'm right, but I haven't seen reason to think he isn't good at his job yet. I'm neutral on him. I think he got the hate before this season because he's a redhead and a lawyer. Well that IS a double whammy...just as long as he doesn't get a third... Quote Link to comment
Husker66
meh, what is he going to say? we have done such a great job here that I deserve it? PR move shows the depth of HP's ineptitude 4 Quote Link to comment

olddominionhusker
I actually gained a lot of respect for Eichorst after today. Not only him saying the contract extension was inappropriate but also how he stood on the sidelines next to the team and watched the entire game from there. He could have hid up in his press box like Peterson did every week but instead he stood there, showed his support, and took his boo's look a man. Did he actually get booed? Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
Wow...impressive. He is pretty smart to come out with that. And like the post above, it was nice seeing him on the sideline and in the locker room. I hope things continue to go up from here! Quote Link to comment

Yes, they were presenting an award to a military guy and Eichorst's name brought loud round of boos. You felt a little bad for the recipient but I'm sure he knew what was up. Quote Link to comment

Ouch, really not a good time to boo there Husker fans. Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
I'm not going to go out of my way to blow Eichorst for this comment. He knows a new Chancellor is on the way. I do give credit for not talking a new contract until the new Chancellor comes on board. Quote Link to comment
Red Dead Redemption
I respect that a lot. I believe him when he said that he was undecided about firing Bo up until the last minute and therefore do not think he was out to get or sabotage Bo or was hired to be the hatchetman. He also said he fired Bo for not winning the games that mattered. Did you believe him then? Do you believe him now? Quote Link to comment

It’s not the time or place,” Eichorst said. “The focus needs to be on our kids, on our coaches, on our staff and on our fan base, and I’m 100 percent committed to that. I’m good with where I’m at from an employment perspective, because I know we’re doing great things in the organization. Eichorst earned a little respect from me after this article. Glad he told Perlman to pipe down Eichorst is at least smart enough to know that Perlman won't be able to shield him in a few months, so better to cozy up to the fans now and save his bacon by saying the right things instead of really being screwed when Harvey is done. cm husker
Wish he'd created this atmosphere for the team last year and the year before. Don't think for a second that this move on the contract issue isn't in response to pressure from above Perly. Quote Link to comment
Thanks_Tom RR
Got to agree with Eichrost on this one. Leadership needs to be on the same page for success. Maybe they are, but it takes more than 10 games to determine. Extending his contract now would just allow status quo, which has yet to be determined successful or not. Truly, this may just be a platitude to Husker Nation, but I am not going to read too much into it. Quote Link to comment
