We have had some very good DBs with similar size. Prince was only 2 inches taller and a little heavier as a Freshman. That's a year away for this kid. It's possible he can grow or fill out more before he ever hits campus.

Or, sometimes, a kid who is slightly smaller can make up for it with athleticism and heart.

After watching this year... If you want to pick on size, please tell me you wouldn't have wanted Dennard back there again. Too small?

Yeah....he's an inch shorter than this kid.

I think we are all in agreement that his size isn't necessarily a deal breaker.

Interview this morning (I'm assuming prior to Nebraska offer):

Visited Iowa and Wisconsin already. Set to visit Cincinnati January 15. Planning to visit Maryland. Said he was saving his last weekend for another visit but didn't know where. Was considering Arizona, Rutgers, Indiana and Pittsburgh.

Greg Simmons said his plan is to use that last visit at Nebraska.

Butler is the only one that we are recruiting at the same position.

Technically Simmons could play Safety but he's decided he wants to try WR.

I haven't see anywhere that Lamar would play anywhere but Safety

He is being looked at as a CB by this staff.

Removed the snide comment - and the grammatical error.

Lamar is a very very versatile player in my opinion. I believe he could honestly play any of the defensive back positions and excel. But, as Mavric said, I believe we would like him as a corner.

You quoted me before I edited.

I was too harsh

It's all good man. Chip's quote when he was introduced in Philly still gets me though. Chip, why do you prefer bigger, stronger guys over smaller, quicker ones? "Big people beat little people up."

Unfortunate that he pretty much burned my NFL team to the ground. Will be interesting to see where he winds up.

As for Mr. Sails, we need all hands on deck in the secondary at the moment.

That could also mean we feel better about a few other guys at his position and haven't been in contact much.
