Offered on Monday. Only considering the schools who've offered him at RB but I'm not sure who all that is. Previously committed to Stanford.

Friends with Lamar Jackson. Tweeted Jackson about "making a move" but not sure where.

Supposedly considering Alabama, Arizona State, California, Colorado and Vanderbilt.

Coaches trying to convince him to sign and visit this weekend but he's not sure about signing somewhere he hasn't visited.

Nobody's getting their hopes up.

But, he at least listened when we called and is tweeting Jackson.

Yeah that's great, we want that........in January.

Sometimes that doesn't work out when you have silent commits that change at the last minute.

Which results in a day like yesterday unfortunately.

True.

Glad to see the staff still working it.

Absolutely, just surprised we target a RB after losing out on a TE and WR. Guess the connection to Jackson is the big reason.

Thats one reason i would nix the silent commit crap. Either the kid is willing to commit to you publicly or his spot is still considered open and other offers are free to commit and take it.

You dont see the top end recruiting schools allowing for silent commits. We need to quit settling for that sh#t! Want to be a big boy in college football? Act like a big boy.

Really???? Other schools don't allow silent commits?

So, if the other schools that are after jackson were told he was coming but not announcing till today they would say screw you????

Ummmm. No

Him being at ASU along with an in home visit with his friend Lamar Jackson from the ASU staff just before the dead period has me concerned. Especially when his tweet asks are WE making a move or no?

ASU has been dropped from consideration. CU and Cal appear to be the leaders. We are still trying to get him to wait until after signing day to decide and visit here this weekend. Probably not going to happen.

talk about a late offer...I'm assuming we aren't offering him at running back?

It is a RB offer.

I like our chances against CU and Cal much better than ASU.

Really? That's not a position of concern.

Maybe we offer the 4 star kid at wherever he wants to play and let it work itself out later

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about a position at this point. Some guys are just football players and can find ways to contribute.

Honestly, if he commits here it would be the craziest thing I could remember in Husker recruiting since I've followed it. He would also become an instant Husker legend.

It would be wild.

4-star player, out of nowhere, coming to NU after being publicly recruited for 24 hours.

Do we know of any timeline on when he might announce his decision?

Signing day is tomorrow so.... likely soon.

I figured as much, but you are not required to sign tomorrow. I didn't know if he said something about announcing tonight or if he was doing another announcement ceremony tomorrow...etc.
