Thought I read somewhere that 50% of all recruits that visit on an OV commit to NU. The tough part has been convincing them to give NU An OV shot.

If this is the case, I think we're looking good

if you can find where you read that i would love to read where you got it from

Someone looked at all of our OVs from last season. I think we had 18 commits from 38 OVs or something like that.

Yeah, 15 of 39 by my count.

But the caveat to that is some of those guys were already committed before visiting. I would think to get a really accurate picture you'd have to look at guys who were not committed here when they visited but ended up signing.

12 one way, a dozen the other. You can twist the stat to tell you what you want. Not sure where you got 15, there are 20 red Nebraska's on that list.

I looked at this thread but it didn't get updated for some of the late guys. I was already typing that when ERN posted that above.

20 out of 39 so right at half.

I don't think I'm twisting anything. The statement was "If we get them on campus we get half of them to commit." The implication being if they can see for themselves what we have to offer, it will make them consider us more. I agree with that premise. But if they've already committed to us before their visit, the visit really didn't have any bearing on that decision.

But guys who are committed elsewhere when they get here are likely to flip. The same could be said (potentially) for our commits who visit other schools. Especially in today's recruiting climate, a commitment status (good or bad) on the day of the visit isn't necessarily indicative of where they are going. That's why I think it's fair to ignore commitment status when considering the stat.

We talk about guys who completely have a change of heart when they see campus on game day. Most of our commits have never seen that when they arrive on campus, putting them, in that regard, on equal footing with players uncommitted or who are committed elsewhere.

Yes, that's what I said. But that wouldn't apply to guys who are already committed here.

I think you're making some big assumptions here.

It's not that big of a deal. It's kind of splitting hairs. Some will see it one way, others another way.
