Gun Control

I still didn’t see 2yr old gun ownership in that statement.

Does the gun lobby REALLY say everyone needs a gun?  Do they say NO background checks?

Im the type of voter you would want to have for gun reform.  A supporter of gun rights who thinks things need to get reformed.  Yet these ridiculous statements hurt your cause.

When people in power start taking this topic seriously, I will too.  Until then, this is where I'm at.

PS....T&P

No. Wrong. You are the one who said-

And the point is still flying over your head. The gun lobby isn’t going to “say” that but everything they “do” makes it easier and more likely that a 2 yr old will get their hands on a gun. Like I said, you struggle mightily with cause and effect.

This is what was said…..

But...isn't what I said the gun lobby's arguing point?  Hey....if everyone has a gun....less gun deaths.  Just trying to promote a solution.

And the point was to call out a ridiculous statement for what it is, ridiculous.

You are struggling mightily to follow along a string of posts.  If the poster didn’t want called out then he shouldn’t have made the claim.

Bullets whizzing around through the atmosphere constantly across the country like no other industrial nation but it's the "graphic books in our schools"

All while those other industrial nations are much more comfortable and open with sexuality and nudity.   I know for a fact, Europeans are laughing at us for wanting to cover the statue of David and label that as too graphic.   Heck, when I was last over there, I saw nudity in commercials on regular TV at 3 in the afternoon on a Sunday.   I remember the day/time very well as I was so shocked at how comfortable and accepted it was imagining how many people would lose their minds if something like that happened here.

You know what's really cool about this?  My son-in-law works in hospitals in Atlanta.  Never know really which one he's in on a given day.

This is so fun.

Oh...heck...one more time....T&P

Not going to mention any of this to my wife until I know he's OK....fun times.

I've got plenty to spare as I'm fairly jaded and don't hand it out as easily as others, so you can have some of my T&P, hoping your SIL is safe.

But I thought it went

Progressive ideology in relation to sex -> moral decay and rot -> more mentally ill people -> more violence

Or you can just not make fun of the victims as before.  Either way.

Gun nuts have made a mockery of victims for 20+ years.  Florida is mocking the victims of a shooting that just took place in the past two election cycles.

cry me a ducking River!

Another vague descriptor that isn't actually pointing at anything specific. Everyone is broken to some extent (I'm sure you and your hiding Christian theology can hold water for the doctrine of original sin). Even those who grew up under the most morally upright parents and the most mentally and ethically rich schooling under the sun still have trauma.

So you don't think talking about bazookas addresses the root cause, but you think talking about porn in school libraries and drag shows are addressing the root cause?

When given the opportunity to share what legislative solutions you actually support and think are sensical to reduce gun violence, out of every conceivable idea under the sun, your best idea is to get sexually explicit material out of schools?

In the gun violence thread, when asked what legislation you support to curb gun violence, the best idea you got to reduce gun violence is 'don't give the kids sex material' in regards to gun violence?

don't really know what else to say other than

lol

even Archy is mostly able to stay on-topic and find common ground with many in regards to solutions to the problem.

I don't think anyone is really apathetic or ignorant of the theoretical idea of institutions promoting porn to kids - I think everyone's just really bewildered, flabbergasted and entertained by your fascinating obsession with that one very hyper specific and very overblown problem against the backdrop of a thread that has nothing to do with the topic.

Everyone is broken to great extent.  Zero are exempt.  It's the root of the world's problems.

Have murders stopped once bazookas were banned?  What bazooka has hopped off a shelf and blown something else up to then be the focal ire of legislative action?  What inanimate object has murdered someone on its own accord?

Gun violence is a SYMPTOM.  Addressing a SYMPTOM never solves the root of an issue.  Banning bazookas 100 years ago didn't stop murders.  It looked at a SYMPTOM.  And failed to solve the issue.  The root cause is people taking to evil.

You want to stop a SYMPTOM of gun violence.  What is the cause?  Guns?  Your Think Tank has established its overwhelming support for a system that looks to expose children to over-sexualized content and has normalized depravity.  There's no "theoretical" to it.  It's happening.  And then some of these morally bankrupt are making decisions that it's time for others to die.

You don't think there's apathy towards what is happening to kids today?  Go back and look at the Education thread on the Thought Leaders dismissing parents' rightful concerns of sexualized material being displayed in pre-teen public school libraries.  But the leftist Think Tank dismisses it.

Mass shootings and violence seem to be increasing.  In a time where America is promoting its most progressive agenda/ideology in history.

Sickness...and sickening.
