Enhance
The "arm everyone" argument falls flat on it's face every single time it comes under even the smallest amount of scrutiny. Activists will naturally find anecdotal evidence of an armed citizen preventing some kind of shooting incident, but those are statistical outliers and they do nothing to address the actual causes of gun violence. It's just putting fuel on the fire. 3 1 Link to comment
knapplc
I'm interested in which guns the gun advocates are willing to give up. Link to comment

They foster an environment where guns are easily and readily available to people who commit mass shootings. "None" is not a reasonable answer in this situation. That gun advocates aren't willing to budge at all means we will continue to have mass shootings. Direct cause & effect. 4 1 2 Link to comment

The reason the boston marathon bombing occurred is due to readily available pressure cookers. People that cook foster an environment where pressure cookers are easily and readily available to people who commit bombings. Direct cause & effect. Again we are talking about a firearm that kills on average 15 people annually. Banning AR15s will have little to no statistical difference in the amount of deaths than banning vending machines. 2 Link to comment
Hedley Lamarr
Anyways I am off to make dinner. We can agree to disagree on this obviously and I hope you all have a good evening. 2 Link to comment

Where are you getting the stat that AR15s only kill 15 people per year? Link to comment

Between 2007 and 2018, 173 people were killed by mass shooters using an AR-15, according to a New York Times analysis — roughly, 15 per year. (For perspective, 13 people die per year from vending machines falling on them.) Have a good evening Knapp. 1 Link to comment

Not counting shootings in which less than four were killed by this weapon, and not counting suicides. Not a great stat to be using in an argument like this. Have a good evening, too. 1 Link to comment

Exhibit A on why our gun laws are an international embarrassment. We shouldn't argue with people like this. Progressives need to do what we've always done, pass a law and make it illegal to own guns. We'll drag you kicking and screaming to the right side of history (again). Don't worry, I'm sure conservatives will find something else to tie your masculine identity to in order to garner your vote. 1 1 Link to comment

Im a gun owner. There is a difference between being a gun owner and being obsessed with them. Unfortunately I know a lot in the last group. 3 Link to comment
Ratt Mhule
Well Headley, fear not. Your guns are safe. This country will never do anything about the gun issue. Mass shootings will continue. People will bicker about it. Nothing will be done. The circle of life in America. Until it affects your family, then opinions change. Link to comment
