ladyhawke
It will be interesting to see how much the rankings change after this weekend of college play! The following ranked teams bit the dust yesterday: Florida State (Decimated by Louisville!) Iowa (hee hee) Oregon (GBR!) Mississippi (Close game though. Would've loved to have seen them beat Bama again!) Notre Dame Oklahoma Texas (Incredibly Over rated!) It will be interesting to see where they place Nebraska. I mean, if Texas can make the top 10 just by beating an overrated Notre Dame Nebraska should be ranked pretty high for beating Oregon. We shall see! The big test comes in the next few weeks as we enter Big 10 play. We all know that if we don't take each of these teams seriously, one of them will sneak up and bite us in the butt! GBR! 1 Quote Link to comment
Comish
Yesterday proved why no rankings should be posted or assessed until at least October. Way too much credit for beating a team "presumed" to be good and way too large a penalty by losing to someone "presumed" to be lesser. But, it would be nice to see the Huskers make a move up and away from Orville (Others Recieving Votes- ville). 4 Quote Link to comment
84HuskerLaw
I will predict we end up number 22 - just a gut hunch but seems about right for now. We got to find a way to keep winning. One tough game at a time. God is still a Husker in heart and spirit! Jesus told me so! Quote Link to comment
NUance
Yeah, we'll be ranked. Of the unranked teams getting AP points, we played the biggest game. But several of those teams won pretty decent games too. The three two-loss teams might be dropping off this week: Oregon, Notre Dame and Ole Miss. (Although Ole Miss *shouldn't* be penalized for a close game to Bama.) And Iowa will tumble down quite a bit too. I could see us coming in a #22. Or maybe a spot or two lower. GBR! HuskerfaninOkieland
I'm also interested in seeing how voters treat the ranked teams who struggled (Wisc, Tenn, etc) Quote Link to comment
Bowfin
There is a lot of shuffling that can go on this week. As the number of teams who remain undefeated got whittled down and a few ranked teams recorded their second loss, it becomes harder to exclude Nebraska, especially after a win against a ranked opponent that gets a lot of press. That being said, if we don't crack the Top 25 this week, just win the next one and the next one and that zero in the loss column speaks louder and louder on our behalf. Quote Link to comment

The good thing these days is that voters are far more willing to bounce teams around than they were ten or so years ago, so these early season polls are far less of an issue than they used to be.
