hskerholic
No official confirmation that I've seen. But BIG ERN said it's a done deal. And he usually has the "inside" scoop so I tend to believe him. BigWillie actually posting has me optimistic! Quote Link to comment
LumberJackSker
Williams is currently the secondary coach at Arizona and serves as a key West Coast recruiter for the Wildcats. Nebraska’s offer to Williams would make him a defensive passing game coordinator, where he would continue to work with the secondary and be heavily involved as a national recruiter. I like the position we offered him. not sure what kind of coverage u of a runs, i wonder if he would have to keep the much beloved quarters coverage or if he would be allowed to do his own thing Quote Link to comment
SODAKSKERSFAN20
Would be a great hire.. I see some of his players at SAN Jose State were throwing out his name for HC.. Hopefully we throw out a number he can't deny! Quote Link to comment
C N Red
Guy on Arizona 247 board says Zona has the funds to match/exceed our offer. I don't know if he's legit. If we really wanted him Arizona couldnt keep up with us in the $$$ department. Quote Link to comment
C N Red
THIS THREAD IS RIPE FOR A RICK ROLL, BUT I'M GOING TO TAKE THE HIGH ROAD FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE! BUT I HAVE A FEELING HE'S This writer almost makes it seem like its a forgone conclusion that he will be coming here. http://www.latlmes.com/world/donte-williams-on-the-move-1 Quote Link to comment
CPT Blackshirt
Well let me be the person from this board to say we can outbid Arizona for this guy Quote Link to comment
cm husker
Seems like a good move for both teams. NU gets a good recruiter per the recruitniks (hard to tell since he hasn't been in CFB or with any specific team for very long) who has relationships with specific targets. Williams puts a big name program on his resume, which is key for a young coach. Quote Link to comment

The athletic department itself doesn't have the money Nebraska does and there's no way they are asking for a bigger subsidy to increase an assistant coaches salary. Quote Link to comment

All p5 programs make the same amount money. All p5 programs can pay as much as every other one to their coaches. Just look, all p5 programs coaches make the the same amount. 1 Quote Link to comment
ADS
I thought it was common knowledge that Texas and SMU make the same in football revenue? 2 Quote Link to comment

Which appears to double nebraska's "profit margin." Quote Link to comment
cm husker
I thought it was common knowledge that Texas and SMU make the same in football revenue? I thought it was common knowledge how to distinguish between P5 schools and non-P5 schools. Guess that's why common knowledge is said to be an oxymoron. 1 Quote Link to comment
