Grad Transfers

Think the staff has shown that they are taking the slow steady route in almost every case. They also took over a team that needed to be shown that this staff was not going to throw them out. Adding transfers, unless they are considerably better then the projected starter, is a risk that may not be worth taking when it comes to player relations.

Alabama who is the pinnacle of CFB and can get better recruits than we can takes about 3 JUCOS every year.

They also have quite a large amount of players leave early for the NFL.

Not saying it is right or wrong to take grad transfers - however it does say something about the staff. Some programs come straight out and do it others don't.

 

My guess is if this was common back in the 70's-90's TO would have said "no thanks"

I don't think this staff is adverse to them, we went hard after that DT from Utah that ended up at USC last year.

 

For this year, if there is a sure-fire starter grad transfer at either TE or DE, I would hope we take a look.

What's the word on Matt Snyder are we going to be pleasantly surprised this year by him or has he not progressed as expected?

Sounds like he was hurt for quite a bit of the year. Again.

 

So he'll have every chance to be on the field next year. But he hasn't been particularly good at even getting on the practice field so far.
