*UNVERIFIED* Russians Blackmailing Trump with video of him with Sex Workers Engaging in Golden Showers

What does "illegally circulated" mean?

This information isn't classified. It came from a former British Intelligence officer. It's not "illegal" to "circulate" this kind of thing.

Yet another attempt by Trump to delegitimize anything that goes contrary to his preaching.

Here's the deal - let's say that some of this report isn't real ... even as much as 50-60% (which I don't think is the case). If 10% of it IS true, it's horrifying and imo an impeachable offense.

This sums it up more completely than I did:

Just to keep a steady stream of relevant news for this issue, communications and financial transactions completed between Trump associates and Russian officials with direct ties to Putin are being examined. Just in time for Trump to be #1.

American law enforcement and intelligence agencies are examining intercepted communications and financial transactions as part of a broad investigation into possible links between Russian officials and associates of President-elect Donald J. Trump, including his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, current and former senior American officials said.

The continuing counterintelligence investigation means that Mr. Trump will take the oath of office on Friday with his associates under investigation and after the intelligence agencies concluded that the Russian government had worked to help elect him. As president, Mr. Trump will oversee those agencies and have the authority to redirect or stop at least some of these efforts.

This is what is scary here, folks--you'll have his ignorant zealots and GOP lackeys parroting that this is a witchhunt and supporting any moves he makes to kill this investigation, when the whole time, they're a very grave and serious national security matter that needs a complete and thorough examination.

That Jason Chaffetz had the stones to come out and say this about the head of the ethics office:

“We need a fair person behind the plate that’s going to call balls and strikes,” Chaffetz said. “What they’re supposed to do is help work with somebody to comply with the ethics requirements. But when you talk publicly about private conversations, that’s not ethical. And when you refuse to come in and talk to the committee when you’re doing reauthorization, when you start tweeting and issuing press statements on things you never looked at, that shouldn’t be the case at all.”

really tells you all you need to know about how accountable said GOP lackeys are going to hold him.

I'd just like to add that it later came out that Chaffetz had skipped a meeting with the guy he was criticizing earlier in December:

WASHINGTON ― Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the Utah Republican who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform committee, told reporters last week that a government ethics official who had criticized President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to deal with his potential conflicts of interest refused to meet with him. Chaffetz even threatened to subpoena the official, Office of Government Ethics director Walter Shaub. “This is not going to be an optional exercise,” Chaffetz said.

But it was Chaffetz who missed a previously discussed meeting in early December, according to Office of Government Ethics emails The Huffington Post obtained via a Freedom of Information Act request. And the ethics office now says the congressman is trying to keep an upcoming meeting — proposed for Jan. 23 — closed to the public.

He's exactly the type of user-partisan clown we don't need anywhere near Washington. But instead, he's the Chairman of the House Oversight and Gov't Reform committee.

The one encouraging thing about the investigation is that it covers such a wide number of governmental agencies. At least Comey will stay on as the head of the FBI, at least in the short term, unless Trump asks him to tender his resignation. But if he does come in and try to start shutting down investigations on himself, he's going to look guilty as hell (at least in the court of public opinion), and you have to think intelligence is going to start leaking like a sieve.
