Well, I think the Republicans are scared to death that a primary challenger will expose Trump as the dufus he is. But his government needs to help hold the Saudis accountable for these things. And Kushner's extremely close ties to the Saudis complicates that. 1 Link to comment

It's telling that any enemy of socialist-style programs always point to places like Venezuela or Cuba or China where corrupt dictators run their countries into the ground for their own gain. Because of course it's far easier to pick that apart those countries instead of arguing on the merits of introducing some more socialist programs or policies to increase the social safety net and benefit everyone. It's not like the U.S. is going to become a socialist dumpster fire overnight if everyone has access to healthcare or the incredibly wealthy have to pay a bit more so we can fund education or infrastructure. 2 Link to comment
