I really really disagree. They may have wanted to kill us before, but this is motivation. One heck of a lot of the problems we have in the entire region is because of our support for Israel. It doesn't have to be directly in Golan Heights...etc. Various groups/countries in the region have a huge problem with our support of Israel and specifically their settlements. Put the name of a US President on one and it's total motivation and a slap in the face of anyone who opposes those settlements. 2 Link to comment

The British, the US , the Russians, and the middle eastern countries themselves haven't been able to establish any kind of stability in that region for over 100 years. Doesn't really make sense to over through one ex military officer dictator if your just gonna destabilize the country for several years just to put in another one.
