DevoHusker
I personally feel that if it was illegality that he was worried about, it would have been leaked far before now. Rather, I think he is such a narcissist that he cannot bear to have it become public that he isn't even worth (gasp) a billion dollars. 3 Link to comment

Why do people think he’s not lying about this too. 1 Link to comment
TGHusker
Trump must give videotaped deposition in protest lawsuit, judge orders - ABC News (go.com) Quote Former President Donald Trump must sit for a videotaped deposition next week as part of a lawsuit involving his anti-immigrant rhetoric, a judge in the Bronx ordered. A group of Mexican protesters said they were assaulted during a rally outside Trump Tower in September 2015 over the then-candidate's comments that Mexican immigrants were criminals and rapists. Quote The lawsuit named Trump, his campaign, his former head of security Keith Schiller, and others. "Donald J. Trump shall appear for a deposition October 18, 2021 at 10 a.m. ... or, in the event of illness or emergency, on another mutually agreed to date on or before October 31, 2021," Judge Doris Gonzalez's order said. 1 Link to comment
TGHusker
No surprise here. Another prosecutor and another criminal investigation of Trump Inc https://dnyuz.com/2021/10/20/trump-organization-already-under-indictment-faces-new-criminal-inquiry/ Quote Former President Donald J. Trump’s family business, which is already under indictment in Manhattan, is facing a criminal investigation by another prosecutor’s office that has begun to examine financial dealings at a golf course the company owns, according to people with knowledge of the matter. In recent months, the district attorney’s office in suburban Westchester County, N.Y., has subpoenaed records from the course, Trump National Golf Club Westchester, and the town of Ossining, which sets property taxes on the course, a sprawling private club that is perched on a hill north of New York City and boasts a 101-foot waterfall. The full scope of the investigation could not be determined, but the district attorney, Mimi E. Rocah, appears to be focused at least in part on whether Mr. Trump’s company, the Trump Organization, misled local officials about the property’s value to reduce its taxes, one of the people said. Ms. Rocah, a Democrat, has not accused anyone at the company of wrongdoing, and it is unclear whether the investigation is examining Mr. Trump’s conduct or if it would ultimately lead to any charges. Still, the Westchester inquiry intensifies the law enforcement scrutiny on Mr. Trump and his family business. Both have been the subject of a long-running criminal investigation by the Manhattan district attorney’s office, which is examining a range of potential financial and tax improprieties. In July, Manhattan prosecutors charged the Trump Organization and its longtime financial chief, Allen H. Weisselberg, with failing to pay taxes on employee perks like cars and apartments. Mr. Trump was not charged in the case, which also involves the New York attorney general, but the investigation is continuing and he remains a subject of it. The prosecutors in that inquiry have sought to pressure Mr. Weisselberg into cooperating against Mr. Trump. Mr. Trump’s attempts to overturn Georgia’s election results last year are the subject of a separate criminal investigation. Link to comment

TGHusker
How's this for a brilliant legal strategy - we're too just too dumb to do the things we are accused of https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/eric-trump-says-we-weren-t-smart-enough-to-collude-with-russia-in-interview-with-former-nfl-quarterback-jay-cutler/ar-AAROK09 Quote Eric Trump spoke about his family's political inexperience on a podcast with a former NFL player. "We weren't smart enough to collude with Russia," he said. Eric also recalled asking a campaign staffer what a caucus was on the day of the Iowa caucuses. In an upcoming interview, Eric Trump says that his family was too politically inexperienced and naive to be capable of what critics have accused the Trumps of in the past. Speaking with former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler on his Uncut podcast, Trump joked about how little he and the rest of the family knew about the basics of American politics while his father was running for president in 2016. Trump also referenced the Russia investigation, where Special Counsel Robert Mueller uncovered extensive contacts between the Trump campaign and Russian government-linked individuals but not enough proof of the two sides conspiring to collude in an effort to tilt the election in the former president's favor. "We weren't smart enough to collude with Russia," Trump says at one point. "We didn't know what the hell we were doing. We didn't know what a delegate was." 1 Link to comment

They won with that one. 1 Link to comment

That he took 15+ boxes full of presidential records that should have been handed over to the National Archives before he left - they had to send people down to FL to get them. Some items had to be taped back together, and his "staff" is supposedly looking for additional items that should have been turned over. A violation of the Presidential Records Act. 1 Link to comment
