Can you imagine what a Democrat could do in office if given this power that would make them absolutely go ballistic? Fox News - Gone Breitbart - Gone Infowars - Gone Rush - Gone .....etc. THEN...they would be crying TYRANNY!!!!! Private companies are "shutting down" Infowars as we speak, and presumably the same "republicans" are losing their minds about it. edit: I know that this isn't the same as limiting the 1st Amendment. Please don't mistake me for sympathizing with Alex Jones. PLEASE!!! 1 Link to comment

I view that as different. InfoWars repeatedly broke Terms of Service of all those different platforms (Facebook, iTunes, Spotify, etc.) by spouting insane conspiracy theories about children killed during a shooting and pizza shop pedophilia. There's an enormous gulf between that and the Fourth Estate publishing stories the president would rather not have run. Link to comment

They aren't shutting down anything. They are removing it's access to their platforms for TOS violations. Infowars is free to go on. It's followers are free to keep buying masculinity enhancing supplements from the pinnacle of male health himself, Alex Jones. They'll just have to do it on their own website. 2 Link to comment

funhusker
Everyone, I'm well aware Youtube dropping Infowars is very different than limiting the 1st Amendment. And, still, some conservatives are very upset about it. That was my point. 1 Link to comment

They’re culpable in Assad’s chemical attacks on civilians and they murder their own people. 1 Link to comment
TGHusker
Meanwhile - speaking of terrorism - Virginia Repubs nominate an alt-right supporter as their Senate candidate. https://www.vox.com/2018/6/13/17458452/alt-right-corey-stewart-virginia-gop Quote When Corey Stewart beat Nick Freitas in Virginia’s Republican Senate primary on Tuesday, he got a congratulatory tweet from President Trump, who said, “Don’t underestimate Corey, a major chance of winning!” Among the people who retweeted Trump’s accolades: Jason Kessler, a self-described “pro-white” activist who organized last year’s “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, during which a young woman was murdered by an alt-right rallygoer — and a friend and associate of Stewart’s. Stewart’s victory in Virginia may throw the GOP’s chances in House races further down the ballot under the bus. Cook Political Report editor Dave Wasserman tweeted that because of Stewart’s win, the GOP is unlikely to hold seats in four Virginia districts. (Reportedly, the National Republican Senatorial Committee may not endorse Stewart.) Link to comment
