It depends on if you're talking raw federal spending - including government jobs. In that instance, a state like Virginia is #1 because if DC.

If you refer to welfare dollars, which is what I'm taking about, it's the government sending states money and not getting things in return. The number 1 state is a blue state,  New Mexico, but the next 9 states are red as well as 13 of the top 15. Because states like Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, etc. have a lot of poor residents.

As far as retraining, the government has provided programs with limited success. They've tried to retrain coal miners in West Virginia to learn new skills, for example, but when given the option to pick from over 100 new skills - paid for by the government - they chose coal mining. Stories are similar for other depresses areas in the country as well.  (https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN1D14G0)

Maybe only pay assistance if they train elsewhere. Need to earn it. I believe there was a reservation in NY many years ago that really started to prosper when one of their own opened an automotive part factory on the reservation to give people jobs. Socially, the environment on the reservation got better too. I am not sure how that ended up, but I think casino's became a thing after that and probably made things worse again. I should find that story.

Edit: I am curious if there's info on voter registration and affiliatuon versus welfare recipients. Either way, it points to poorly run states.

Would you be able to let us know if military base spending, GSA building spending, etc…counts towards the funds given to a state, thus making their situation seem worse from an intake standpoint or if they are not counted.  Thanks in advance as I genuinely do not know.

The data is difficult to find,  but this website has a chart you can filter through.

https://www.moneygeek.com/living/states-most-reliant-federal-government/

You can filter by "Fed Fund % of State Revenue", which separates out other classified "dependencies" like government jobs or the presence of military bases. When using this metric,  Red states make up 13 of the top 15 states most dependent on the federal government to fund their state.

This makes sense, Red states (in the Southeast especially) are poor and have much lower GDP. The progressive nature of our system means they're going to get more than they pay in.

Of course, the irony of this is well documented in Political Science. Red States, who benefit most from government programs, vote in ways to limit them.  Which is why, in the event of a secession of Red States, they would be much worse off because they would no longer have Blue states (in New England) to subsidize them.

Idaho lieutenant governor bans vaccine mandates, tries to deploy National Guard during governor's 2-day trip

Tuesday Idaho Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin (R) took advantage of Gov. Brad Little's (R) out-of-state travels — for the second time this year — to issue a pandemic-related executive order and move to press the Idaho National Guard into border patrol duty.

As soon as Little left to meet with nine other GOP governors in Texas, McGeachin issued an executive order prohibiting private companies from requiring employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19, among other things. She also asked Maj. Gen. Michael J. Garshak how she could activate the National Guard and send them to the U.S.-Mexico border, The Associated Press reports.

In May, McGeachin issued a ban on mask mandates when Little was on an official trip to Tennessee. Little rescinded that order as soon as he returned. McGeachin is one of a crowded field of Republicans running to replace Little in 2022. Little has not indicated whether he is seeking re-election.

According to the Left, the actual remedy is just pay a “livable wage” and people will work for you.

We already do pay above that.  When you are at 2.2% unemployment for the state and as a county, there isn't anyone to hire.

This is just insane to want to hold people back that want to work.  Figure out f#&%ing immigration.  I hear politicians talking about wanting to get manufacturing back to the US.  I ask again, who is going to do the work?

does that mean windmills are not bird graveyards but rather they are eliminating the drones that are spying on us?

Those drones were delivering life saving medication to noise cancer patients via their Chem trails.

Thats why there has been overcrowding in hospitals.  The government wants us to blame COVID.  Only the sheep don’t realize it’s windmill cancer making people sick!
