f#&%ing stupid.

Yes, the government should be working for the people.  That includes making sure they are collecting the taxes that everyone owes.

In a state that depends a great deal on federal agricultural subsidies, I think it would be a good idea to make sure federal taxes are available for use.

Everyone should pay the taxes they legally owe based on current tax code, but just a friendly reminder the US budget doesn’t really have a revenue issue.

But...God forbid, we fund the agency to make sure people pay their taxes.  That would just be horrible.

This path by Republicans is a f#&%ing joke and shows how absolutely pathetic they are.

One could argue that if the concern was to make sure everyone would pay what they legally owe, the easiest way would be to change the tax code to a consumption tax or a flat tax with no deductions.   Easier to audit, less resources needed.

BUT...God forbid...don't fund the agency that make sure that happens.  That would be totally un-'merican.

Translation.....you're a blubbering idiot and finally people are telling you you're a blubbering idiot and so you're trying to now convince people you're not a blubbering idiot...while still proving you're a blubbering idiot.

But...idiots like voting for blubbering idiots.

Hopefully she's actually changed for the better.

But easily getting sucked into bs on the internet should be disqualifying for any person in government.  What's going to stop her from falling for the next line of crap?

They currently ARE funded so we really don’t need to “God forbid”.  The level of funding is the question.  Plus a simpler tax code would require less resources to make sure all comply with it

Yes, they do actually get funding.  If they didn’t, the department wouldn’t even exist.   It’s the level of funding that is in question, and my previous point still stands too

Of course they get funding. When was the last time that funding was increased so they can function the way they should be?  The IRS budget has been flat when compared to inflation since before 2002.

I've personally been in situations where I need information from the IRS or need to work with them on various situations.  And, it's a pain in the a$$ because they are severely underfunded.  They don't have the computer systems in place to easily get information and questions answered.  The increase in staff would greatly help this.  But, Republicans are painting this as 87,000 gestapo police coming to take your life away.

The department does not function the way it should because of lack of funding.  It's that simple.  But, it's easy to get people like you to believe that funding it is something evil.

If it were funded the way it should be and managed properly, it would actually be better for the majority of Americans.  I don't give a s#!t if it's worse for people who don't pay the taxes they are supposed to.  If they did, maybe the rest of us wouldn't have to pay so much.
