2018 Penn St recruiting off to unbelievable start

Recommended Posts

Recruiting is as much about perception as it is about reality. It doesn't matter if State College is on the moon, if people perceive it as being an east coast metro area and they perceive Lincoln to be in middle of nowhere cornfields Nebraska, that matters.

Of course it does. However, if Nebraska wins the B1G next season, and puts on a show in the Rose Bowl, you'll see them pull in a top 15 class as well.

Thats why you need great recruiters to get these players on campus to see its not in the middle of cornfields. This coaching staff is much better than Pelini staff at getting players to campus. Lets hope they can start closing on these top players now. Starting to get rid of the dead recruiting weight now so we will see.

PSU doesnt have any competition for any players in the Northeast. Thats Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, DC, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Their biggest competitor for players is Maryland and Pitt. The northeast has 55 MILLION people. The Northeast area has 2.5 times more people than the second largest region in the unites states, the south. Think about that for a second.. 2.5 times more people than all the people from North Carolina to (and including) Texas! Granted, football isnt as popular in the northeast as it is in the south, but thats a lot of damn people.
