In the absence of these materials, my memory has not been perfect. And I have no doubt that a more fair, open, and orderly process of allowing me to read the State Department records would have made this process more transparent.

I don't think he would go there given how he prefaced everything. He wanted to make it clear his professional accomplishments were legitimate and he is a qualified individual.

I honestly think his appointment after donating is nothing.  Every single President since the beginning of time has appointed certain ambassadors because they supported and donated to their campaign.

 

There's a lot bigger issues here than that.

Someone noted that Sondland is independently wealthy, so he has no need of maintaining good graces with the right-wing propaganda machine. He's not angling for a TV deal on Fox News, he can just go into retirement or private business or something.
