The First Trump Impeachment Thread

Nothing along the lines of  "I'm very troubled by what I've heard" or, "Withholding funds to benefit your political campaign would be an abuse of office."

Just temporizing, use of the White House's "repetition" word.

I believe they call people like this a "stooge."

Deb does a poor job at hiding her denial. Seems clueless instead.

  • Trump has not asserted executive privilege, for the tenth time.
  • Executive privilege is not absolute. See US v. Nixon, when a unanimous SCOTUS ruled against the President's withholding of criminal evidence.
  • Lev Parnas, Rudy Guiliani, and John Bolton are not members of his Administration.

Clinton testified under oath. Are you offering a Biden for Trump deal, or is your cult leader too much a coward?

This all wrong.

- what do you think "instructed not to testify" means?  IF you mean the strictly legal act of asserting the privilege, that only happens when someone is in a legal hearing and on the stand.

No one could be bothered to go to court and try to force the issue because {insert cover story}

- documents have different standards then testimony.  If you remember Trump already voluntarily released the key document, the transcript of his conversation with UKR.  The entire world knew Trump would never be impeached and removed when they heard it.  But, that didn't stop DNC leaders from cheapening the instrument of an Impeachment to mere political theater.

- the privilege doesn't disappear when someone leaves the job.  It follows the communication not the body.

I heard an interesting take ont he radio, so unclear who said it or where I could go to find it.  But essentially it said, the Boomer GOP is dying, the youth gaining their voting rights in the next 10 years is old enough to see what's going on, they're watching people lie and be rewarded, people telling them that there are more important things than the environment and gun control, equal rights etc - they will never choose to be a Republican, they will not register, they will not vote for the GOP - the longevity of what's happening now will result in an entire generation that will refuse to support the GOP an their goals and it will die off as well.   So the short term is our democracy getting blown apart and the next generations will have to rebuild it.

People have been making this argument for 200 years.  Back then it was obvious that Italians and Irish had such high birthrates that soon they would be outvoting pure Anglos.  The flaw is that when people grow into the American middle class they start to want the thing America stands for and not what you thought they'd vote for.

It is not a transcript. And it is still incriminating.

Lev and Rudy never had a job to leave.

And I don’t have the time or care right now to correct your BS about executive privilege.

At this point, every post of yours should be presumed a lie until otherwise shown to be correct, like your cult leader.

QMany is right, calling that a transcript is a farce. The White House did what it always does... release as little information as possible and edit out anything that makes Trump look bad.  Because they're a bunch of liars. They've trashed their credibility and no one should take anything they say seriously.

Your inability to acknowledge the reality that is right in front of your face and instead argue minutiae trying to defend Trump is just pathetic at this point.

Really? what do you call it

Selectively edited excerpts from the actual full transcript. They tried to pass it off as a full, unedited transcript because that supported their case.

It's just another in a long list of instances of them trying to mislead the public for their own gain. That's a problem.
