DOJ Initial Russia Hearings

Exactly.

If their excuses are accurate, we are led by the biggest group of morons I've ever seen. I'm surprised they can dress themselves in the morning.

We have digital calendars we share and I usually know when most people on my team are at a meeting, where, and who they are with.

Sen. Lindsey Graham warned President Donald Trump on Thursday against firing his attorney general — the latest Republican to try to deter Trump from a move that would carry huge consequences for the U.S. government.

"If Jeff Sessions is fired, there will be holy hell to pay," the Republican from South Carolina told reporters, according to video taken by NBC News.

A push to fire Sessions — who enraged Trump by recusing himself from the investigation into Russian efforts to influence the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin — is seen as a possible precursor to removing the special counsel overseeing that probe. Graham also warned of consequences if the Trump administration tries to remove special counsel Robert Mueller, the former FBI director.

"Any effort to go after Mueller could be the beginning of the end of the Trump presidency, unless Mueller did something wrong. Right now, I have no reason to believe that Mueller is compromised," Graham said.

Meh. Typical politician. He sounds tough, but still gives himself an "out" if it politically behooves him to swing the other way. If Trump's team can "Trump up" something on Mueller, they could provide a (flimsy) reason to fire him.

Actually, Graham is working on legislation to require a judicial review if the special prosecutor is fired. That's something serious as it removes the politicians from the decision and puts it in the courts, which are far more balanced and non-partisan.

Not sure where to put this, but here's an article detailing all of Trump's business dealings with the Russians: https://newrepublic.com/article/143586/trumps-russian-laundromat-trump-tower-luxury-high-rises-dirty-money-international-crime-syndicate

There's ton in that article, but here's a telling quote:

Trump Taj Mahal paid the largest fine ever levied against a casino for having “willfully violated” anti-money-laundering rules.

Goodness gracious.

"Although misleading the public or the news media is not a crime,..." is about when you know you're in a bad spot.

Resign.

"The president’s legal team planned to cast the June 2016 meeting as a potential setup by Democratic operatives hoping to entrap Trump Jr. and, by extension, the presumptive Republican nominee, according to people familiar with discussions."

...and it's not really any better when it's the legal team doing the fabricating.

The president directed that Trump Jr.s statement to the Times describe the meeting as unimportant. He wanted the statement to say that the meeting had been initiated by the Russian lawyer and primarily was about her pet issue the adoption of Russian children.

So the president pushed this narrative meaning it had little to nothing to do with adoption. I guess the subject line on the e-mail was a good indication of what was actually talked about?

Trump will surely view this as an effort by the deep state and/or the media to undermine him. He'd be better off understanding it for what it is: a desperate effort to help him help himself. After all, in this case, the advisers were right. The truth all came out in rather short order, and Trump only made it worse.

It's kind of remarkable, isn't it? This came out via leaks; the leaks Mooch promised to end. I wonder how the emperor feels about his new Chief of Staff.
