There are layers of loans, loan forgiveness, new loans, tax avoidance, suits and counter suits etc. Long and short, he is still personally on the hook for over $400m in loans. It is like a never ending story. Link to comment

schriznoeder
Every time I hear a story 1 hour ago, RedDenver said: Hey, remember back when Trump was supposed to be this great businessman? No wonder why Trump was so willing to collude with Justice Kennedy. Not only had Deutsche Bank (with Kennedy's son Justin as the go-to) loaned Trump hundreds of millions of dollars when no other lender would touch him, but then Deutsche Bank forgave a huge chunk of that same loan. Wow, it doesn't take much to connect the dots here... 3 Link to comment

Look back to the day before this all started and then look at your statement above and then laugh at yourself. You are terrible at this. Quote The U.S. deficit hit $984 billion in 2019, soaring during Trump era The U.S. government’s budget deficit ballooned to nearly $1 trillion in 2019, the Treasury Department announced Friday, as the United States’ fiscal imbalance widened for a fourth consecutive year despite a sustained run of economic growth. The deficit grew $205 billion, or 26 percent, in the past year. The country’s worsening fiscal picture runs in sharp contrast to President Trump’s campaign promise to eliminate the federal debt within eight years. The deficit is up nearly 50 percent in the Trump era. Since taking office, Trump has endorsed big spending increases and steered most Republicans to abandon the deficit obsession they held during the Obama administration. 4 Link to comment
Moiraine
I'm convinced a lot of people don't know what the deficit is. They're just used to the Republicans yelling about it while Obama was president so it must have been fixed once he left. 3 1 Link to comment
