I think it's real, but the police chief was fired because he was illegally wire tapping phones so framing it like it was a racial thing is pretty disgusting.

I just automatically assumed they were probably fired for cause. People definitely shouldn't learn about politicians via political ads.

He was suspicious that people at the PD were talking about him. He then illegally tapped the phones to prove it. I agree it's a poor way for people to learn about our candidates.

Hypothetical:

Raise your hand if you'd be fine with either Sanders OR Buttigieg winning the nomination.

I'll start.

I’d be okay with either of them as president. But Buttigieg doesn’t poll as well against Trump so I don’t want him to win the nomination.

If Joe Biden wasn't a former VP he'd be polling near Tulsi Gabbard with garbage stuff like this.

And I know your first reaction is, "No way a major-party presidential candidate called a potential voter a 'lying dog-faced pony soldier' in front of a room full of witnesses," BUT YOU'D BE WRONG ABOUT THAT, MY FRIEND.

There's video.

by the way I didn't see the debate friday night.  I heard Amy did well.  Do any of you think she is a sleeper who could actually win this?

she has been gaining IMO.    i would vote for her

kk...this might be the best ad so far...and it's from bloomberg.

Hightlights the crass thug we have in the WH now. Low class, low life, not reflective of the America I know.  I KNOW America can do better and that we are better than Trump and the current crop of GOPers that support him.

Polling is an interesting thing. On one hand it's really the only data we have to make a conclusion based on data about who's better than anyone else.

On the other hand it tends to change with circumstances as things go along. This is just my personal opinion here obviously but I think a big part of why Sanders was so popular in the last election was that most people didn't think he would win the nomination and thus he had a lot of "likable underdog" baked in. He's also just a pretty affable person for a lot of voters and Clinton was the polar opposite. But part of it was clearly that he wasn't likely to win and thus people were being polled on a hypothetical matchup instead of the two unlikable candidates they were likely to get; Sanders never had to go through the extra 6 months of scrutiny he would've had as the nominee.

It will be interesting to see how he fares if and when he gets in that crucible this time. He seems like the favorite to me right now.

This seems to be a big knock on Sanders but I have to ask, who has gone through that scrutiny? Biden would be the closest but I would have to think most of the focus was on Obama. Really none of the candidates have faced GOP scrutiny or oppo research or whatever you want to call it that people are saying Sanders has never gone up against. I think they are all susceptible to attacks. Trump will hammer on socialist Bernie, socialist Warren who he will also attack on the Native American thing,  sleepy creepy corrupt Joe. They will all face their unfair share of smears

Based on what?

My personal opinion like I said lol. To me he's too far left. Your independents and Republicans that are looking to jump ship to get Trump out tend to think Bernie is, for lack of better terms, a tad crazy. I'm an independent that registered democratic to take part in the caucus. I've voted for both parties for president in the past. I won't vote for Warren or Sanders just because I personally feel they're too left for my taste. JMO
