Friendly reminder that electoral shenanigans are the kind of crap you see in Russia, or China, or Syria, or Belarus....

Autocracies.

Republicans here of course benefit from voter suppression, they're just generally quiet about it.

This is the first time a president had ever admitted it openly, saying it out loud.

We aren't there yet but the train left the station awhile ago and coal is steadily being shoveled into the engine. Its like those movies where there is a track switch lever right before the poor girl tied to the tracks. Can we pull the lever on election day or will it jam?

I'd say contact your local congressman/senator as well, but I have been ghosted thus far.

It's worth a try - the do supposedly keep logs of contact.

I'd also add that reaching out to the Ranking Member of the Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee (Gary Peters D-MI) who is in charge of overseeing the Postal Service, and/or any of the members would also be calls worth making.

WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court on Thursday rebuffed the Republican Party and allowed a consent decree to go forward so that Rhode Island voters during the coronavirus pandemic could cast mail-in ballots without in-person witness verification.

It was the first time the justices had agreed to a pandemic-related voter relief effort. But they explained in a short, unsigned order that state officials had agreed to relax the rules, and the change already had been implemented during the June primary.
