So.. like Donald Trump corrupt?

I dont know, watch the video, do the research and decide for yourself if you want that guy in the white house. That along with changing his views on certain things so quickly when his donors tell him to and  taking money from the most billionaires in the primary should deter people from voting for him. But we have people in this country that care more about platitudes and people sounding like they know what they are talking about than actual policy and corruption so Im sure he will still get votes.

and, from other's point of view, not much else...

First, you'd need some sort of comparison of whether getting 7 bills passed as the primary sponsor was a lot. That actually seems like a decent number to me. Second from yet another perspective, he's done quite a lot, Sanders is called the Amendment King because of the large number of amendments he gets added to bills.

Quote

But the sparse number of bills isn’t surprising. Volden and Vanderbilt University’s Alan Wiseman assess the legislative effectiveness of House members by comparing their records to a benchmark. According to this analysis, Sanders has either met or exceeded expectations during his tenure in the House

<snip graph>

Lawmakers who belong to the party in control are five times more likely to have their bills go anywhere than minority party members, according to Volden. So Sanders’ legislative approach may seem like fixating on small potatoes, but for an independent who caucuses with the minority party, it’s a smart strategy.

"He could have either resigned himself to that fate, changed the nature of his legislation and coalition-building strategy, or offered amendments on the floor," Volden said. "He chose the third of these paths, making him more influential in shaping policy than if he had taken the first path. Why he did not take the second path is an open question — likely linked to his ideological views."

Thanks RedDenver. You may have guessed I am not a Sanders fan, and would only vote for him if he is the last candidate standing for the general election from the Dems (a result which I think would re-elect Trump)

I was pointing out that a career politician bragging about standing in more picket lines than anyone else, but not having much else to hang his hat on (3 of those 7 I attached, since 1991 btw, are re-naming post offices  ) I think Bernie is too old, too socialist, and could play an extra in Grumpy Old Men the sequel.

Over 200 for Sanders here.

A very misleading number...

I literally just counted from your link. On the 2nd and 3rd page alone, 65 entries to "designate such and such day"... including the massively popular one to designate October of 1991 as "Country Music Month" <_<

So now we judge candidates by how many bills they pass, even if the bills suck a$$?  So Biden gets credit for all the s#!tty bills he passed just because he got them passed.  I guess good on Trump then for that tax bill.  He got it passed, that's all the matters.

Not solely, no...but it is definitely a criteria. I think it reflects upon the record of someone who has been on the Hill for 28 years.

And, s#!tty bills that pass show that others can get behind that same s#!t...instead of s#!t that can't garner enough support to pass

These numbers are only being presented in a vacuum. What are the numbers for all of the other candidates? We can't evaluate Bernie's without a standard to compare to.

Thanks for the link Landlord...very heartwarming.

As to the numbers, you are correct. Without comparative accounting, from other candidates that have been either a Congressman or Senator for just short of 30 years, they are just numbers in a vacuum.

I was merely sharing my opinion that four meaningful pieces of legislation in 30 years seems a bit lean.

We also know that his policy platform has been the same for 40 years and only became mainstream in 2016.  So even though he hasn't passed any of that legislation, its literally most of the dem platform now.  Questions are now framed in a "are you with Bernie or against Bernie" sort of way.  That's pretty incredible.

While it appears that Biden's edge over trump is going down, Warren's is moving up.

Trump - the known 2020 general election candidate is holding at around 36%.

I suspect that many of the 'don't know' are individuals not sure about the Dem candidate

and waiting for that to shake out.  Trump is known and if they were leaning his way, it would

be reflected in his #s.

The interesting thing is, it's possible that Trump's stunt with Ukraine and has hurt Biden and he's done.  However, I think Trump thinks he can beat Warren with the "Pocahontas" crap.  There are a small group of Americans that think that's funny....other than that, it's ran its course.  I think he would have a hard time finding something on Bernie that would scare away a large portion of his supporters.  So, he's going to have to face them with actual issues.......which he is absolutely clueless on.

Agreed. But Biden has also hurt himself wt his continued bubbling Uncle Joe character.

I think Warren defeats Trump in defeats just on policy knowledge alone and common sense.  Trump's name calling has run its course and only the feeble minded still laugh at his childish ways.

No one is going to scare away Bernie supporters - not even a combined stroke and heart attack -and I wish him long health.

Someday the truth will be written, but it's virtually certain that MSNBC has top-down instructions to take Bernie Sanders out of the race.

It's across the board....from the pundits they feature, to the pundits they've banished, to the willful misrepresentations in their polls and graphics.
