Will play the Maryland-Iowa winner on Friday.So this gives our pitchers an extra day of rest if we don't play until Friday...not too shabby, may pay dividends later on.I would rather have the game on Thursday so the team stays in their rhythm of playing every day. Plus it will condense the schedule a lot for NU on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If we win, then we'll be okay, schedule-wise. And if we lose...well, the loser's bracket already has a crap schedule to begin with, right? Hopefully the coaches run them through a practice today to keep them fresh. This will allow Burkamper to pitch Friday on his usual 6 days rest that he gets during the regular season, so that's good. I just know that baseball players are a creature of habit, so they get used to playing every day, after a few days of rest. Quote Link to comment
