"Keith Williams is the best receiver coach in college football, period"

I like Keyshawn, even if he is a Trojan.

It helps when he loves your program/coach and his son was a recruit.

Jokes aside, he's been a really great brand ambassador for Nebraska ever since his son's recruitment, and he makes a really good point about going to a place that fits your skill set. Some players, particularly many of the highly ranked high school players, have goals of reaching the NFL. If winning a national title was their main goal then they'd only ever go to the top ranked programs and Key Jr. probably wouldn't have come to Nebraska. The bond between player/coach, and what that coach can do for the player, is probably the single greatest variable in recruitment.

Why not go somewhere where you can do both? Win a NC and get ready for the NFL?

I would wager a lot of players (especially some highly ranked ones) think competing for and winning a national title is gravy, but the meat/potatoes is getting to the NFL.

It sounds like that's what Key Sr. is saying about this son. The "who cares" if they win 9 games if (in Key Sr.'s opinion) Nebraska has the best WR coach in the country and can help his son reach his goal of getting to the NFL.

Case in point: was Nebraska a destination spot for highly ranked WRs during the mid-90s? More than likely, if you wanted to get to the NFL and you wanted to go to a place that really showcased your pass catching abilities, you weren't choosing Nebraska.
