Call Your Shot - Rutgers

Similar to the year following the 2015 Iowa game, Riley chews Langsdorf's @$$ and insists that he put more effort into calling a contestant rushing attack.  Fewer pass attempts and more success rushing.

We find out that the defense of the last six quarters wasn't really any better as Rutgers moves the ball and scores much more than we think they should.

DPE shakes off previous results and has at least one 30+ yard return.

Khalil Davis gets a sack.

NU starts off slow due the mess that is now NU football and Rutgers comes out fired up - looking for their coach's first win over a P5 team.

Rutgers takes the ball down the field in the open drive and stuns the home crowd wt a too easy and too early TD score.

NU gets the ball, and marches to the 45 before the drive stalls due to a false start and a dropped bubble screen pass that safely rolls out of bounds.

After the NU punt that sails into the end zone,  Rutgers gets a first down and no more as the NU defense stiffens.  The games settles into defensive battle.

NU gets a field goal on the next position.  Just before half NU tacks on a TD with a 65 yard catch and run by Spielman.

Each team  score 14 points in the 2nd half and NU pulls out a squeaker stinker.

Here is how one NJ writer sees the keys to a Rutgers win:

No punt blocking (i.e. 7-8 guys surronding DPE because we're afraid of a fake) and DPE muffs a punt to give Rutgers the ball in great shape. We end up losing by less than 7.

I'll take it a step further and say DPE houses a PR

Wilbon still struggles.

Ozigbo runs wild in the second half.

Lee throws two more int's.

Defense holds their offense to 10 points.

We win 24-17

Tyjon gets his first collegiate touchdown

Defense doubles its sack total for the year (3)

Lee completes over 70% of throws

Huskers get a defense/special teams touchdown

You must surely have a fall out shelter stocked with koolaid.  The rest of us seem to be out.  Care to share?  :-)
