4skers89
I see when new coaches are introduced the AD and new coach hold up a jersey together. I wonder if Nebraska will do the same and if Frost will bring one of his old jerseys. 1 Link to comment
Savage Husker
So many threads and can’t find one where this would probably be best. It’s a Tim Miles quote but there was an interesting quote nonetheless. To me, sounds like Miles alludes Riley’s firing before it went official. Link to comment

He fired Bruce Read and Mark Banker for inadequate performance. You can argue that he was forced to, but he did it nonetheless. 4 hours ago, BoneyardCornhusker said: Seeing all those Nebraska connections on that staff, and seeing how successful UCF is just makes me smh at why didn't we try this ourselves a long, long time ago? Most of those guys simply do not have the experience or resumés to warrant a legitimate look from us in any other scenario other than our new coach bringing his staff with him. 2 hours ago, ladyhawke said: What do you think about these five defensive coordinators? secretasianman
Regarding people’s suggestions of former players and Blackshirts being selected for Frost’s staff — look, just because you played, doesn’t mean you can coach. Not all players are leaders and most must be lead. Plus, you don’t just jump into coaching at this level. Seriously, some of the suggestions are mind boggling — players that have zero coaching experience !? Second— look at who coaches hire for their staff : other coaches within their network. Our previous 3 coaches did it, Frost will too. Look at his current staff— they are all linked to him. Coach Dewitt (assoc. head coach, LB’s, Special Teams)- was UNI’s d- coordinator after Frost. Chinander (DC) coached at UNI and Oregon with Frost Austin (OL) grad assistant at Oregon, played at NU Dawson (DL) connected to Frost through Chip Kelly Held (RB) former teammate of Frost, 17 years in coaching Verduzco (QB) coached at UNI with Frost Raymond (director of player dev) same position at Oregon when Frost was there. Dillon (player personnel) from Oregon also Ruud (qca) player at NU, no coaching experience Haines (off. GA) played at Oregon when Frost coached there Duval (strength) was at NU when Frost played here That leaves 3 coaches on his current staff that he didn’t have ties to. And 2 of them were at UCF previously. Connect the dots. Scott won’t be making any big name, splash hires for assistants. 2 Link to comment
Toe
Does anyone read Off Tackle Empire much? That's SB Nation's Big Ten blog. I never really looked at it, but I do read Corn Nation (their Husker site) sometimes. Link to comment
Home Run Terrace
Don't know if this has been talked about in this thread or another thread but ESPN FPI hit the nail on the head back in April on how this season would go . Obviously the computers couldn't account for Tanner Lee's ability to throw touchdowns to NIU defenders but everything else was spot on. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/espn-s-football-power-index-doesn-t-give-nu-much/article_a3754ca0-1a38-11e7-9afc-0b2fc235b571.html https://www.cornnation.com/2017/4/5/15193086/nebraska-huskers-football-espn-football-power-index-win-loss-projection Link to comment

No, but it does account for things like returning experience, which we didn't have a lot of last year, but depending on how things play out with the coaching change, we could have quite a bit this coming year. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see next year's previews with much better expectations, and it would have been that way even with Riley. 1 Link to comment

He will always be apart of the program and since all threads scott frost are merged into this one this thread will never cease to exist. Any time something is mentioned about him it will be put in here however long he is our coach. So i dont think we can really count up anymore because there is no stopping this thread now. This has Zombie thread written all over it. Link to comment
