And where is it stated he has to take the highest offer?   I would not offer Urban Meyer or Saban ten years.  Some of you are going to curl up and die if he stays at UCF.

In honesty last nights UCF game was not that impressive.  Not worth 7 million a year or a ten year deal.

And this having a baby deal is way over hyped.
There are young men all over the world facing grave danger that have wives having babies.  It does show his priorities though.  His immediate family will have a strong word in what happens.

His agent can leverage the current highest offer to get more from another school. These things have nothing to do with "deserve".  Tom Herman got paid over 5 mil per year bc LSU and Texas wanted him. Is he as accomplished as some HCs that get paid less? Of course not.

If that's the only game you watched you're mission out. UCF has been very impressive all year. The only issue they had last night was finishing drives offensively. They moved the ball well (over 600 yards), and the defense played well considering SMU is thought to have 3 NFL type WR's. If you thought those guys tore up UCF's secondary, imagine what they would of done to ours.....

if ucf goes undefeated including the bowl game, i would guarantee that he does.

I guarantee you he won't.... That would put him 2nd in the country (tied with Harbaugh & behind Saban).

It would also put him ahead of Meyer, Franklin, Jimbo Fisher, and Dabo Swinny.... Yeah, he's not getting $7 million.

If Frost isn't getting paid 5 million a year or more it's because he wants his staff to get taken care of. If he is hired, we all need to have some patience. This revolving door of coaches is getting old and isn't working. Frost is a good coach it seems so we need to give him plenty of time to get the ball rolling here and be patient.

Hence the reason why we must give him a long contract with a large buyout.

Couldn't agree more, and fortunately I think this might be something that the University, and a decent portion of the fan base have come to understand.

Hence a long-term contract

If things go poorly in the first few years, that's a lot of money to be on the hook for.

That's the point. The reason we make sure we give him a fair chance to deliver for our program rather than canning after 3 years when he still has some of rileys recruits.

We've shown, in this thread and others, that time is not a factor in building a top tier program. We've had examples from eras dating back to the 70s showing that, if a program makes that jump, it's in a 3 year window, with the data showing a big jump specifically in year 2. Giving a new coach "more time" is in effect no different than giving the current coach "more time".

What at it does do is increase the costs of firing a coach.

yes, but 10 years and 50 million, you're still on the hook for 20 million after 6 years, seems kind of steep.
