I think he's also saying the alma mater means something...but the people are where the true loyalty is with...as in fans, TO, AD, players, etc...a school is just a school. Link to comment

He wants to be honest, yet not say that he is leaving for Nebraska. He wants to give his current team his maximum effort and not cause a distraction.
