That's on me, felt like a baited question.  I expected a response similar to "Well since you have no alternative system...."

I don't have a good answer.  Candidates can't all be expected to fund themselves can they?  It would ensure only the wealthy succeed.  We can't just have a free for all, unqualified people would get elected as jokes.  So is it a matter of the devil you know or the devil you don't.

You're going a bit off the rails here bro, I'm not gonna bite on the fork in the road you're offering me.

This isn't a gotchya. I'm genuinely trying to have a conversation with you. I'm curious if you don't think it's money, then what is it that gives people power?

Oh money is power, that was never in question.  Sure funding plays a major role in politics.  But true power, that takes leverage.  Corporations and Hollywood may as well be recognized as two more branches of government.  Truth be told I see most politicians as nothing more than pawns.  Pawns paid to do others bidding.

I want what everyone else wants, an actual government working for us instead of against us.

That's exactly what AOC ran on, and it won her the primary over a powerful incumbent Democrat.

Young and a tick naive? Sure. Stupid? No. Not even close. Weird that she's your go-to example in a realm of guys who bring snowballs on the Senate floor to dispute Global Warming.

Sorry gang, didn't realize I'd wandered into the AOC support club!  That George W. Bush, what a dummy, amirite?

I can appreciate sincere dissatisfaction with our elected officials. Forgive me for not appreciating lazy opinions like “she’s everyone’s go to”...

for example: I can appreciate Rand Paul’s vote against 9/11 responders because it wasn’t “paid for”. But also chastise him for voting for tax cuts that aren’t paid for.

Dude you're throwing shade on someone who fits the mold of what you want (minus political leanings) and you haven't told us why.

Nebraska’s electorate...

When in doubt, vote R.  Even though the “r” is nothing more than a box checked by a person with a #2 pencil...

Speaking of that, Kara Eastman, another justice democrat who came within two points of Bacon in 2016 announced shes running again.  she was close last time, maybe she will knock an R out.  The funny thing is, the DNC hates justice democrats so much that they want to primary her even though she almost won last time.

When you call someone "stupid" but provide no good evidence as to why you think that, its lazy and you should get called out.  I would get called out also.

There's a reason for that.

In the absence of Hillary Clinton, the best fundraising tool Republicans ever had, hired media consultants crafted a messaging platform for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to replace her as the "go-to" liberal demon.

There are many key difference between AOC and Hillary Clinton. As has already been pointed out to you, AOC actually checks off a lot of the boxes you supposedly want in your elected official -- she challenged and defeated a Clinton-like Dem because the party and government was no longer representing real working people.

The media consultants figured if they posed her as a shrill, socialist dimwit, you'd pass it along without really thinking. They also see AOC as a legitimate threat.

They know what they're doing, unfortunately.
