People would like to believe that, but as I said, most rational people know the social justice movement has been co-opted to make people believe everyone deserves the same things regardless of effort or work outside of what you mentioned.  The antithesis of a capitalist society.

I work with a lot of self proclaimed “social justice warriors”, and zero of them believe what you just typed.

The only people that think they actually feel that way (outside of the crazy fringe)  are being fed a line from media that is stirring up fear that people are trying to take things from them.

Oh, case closed.  The couple people you speak with represent everyone else :thumbs.

How many people do you actually know that actually feel that way?  Out of all your family, neighbors, and coworkers how many feel that everyone should have the same lot in life no matter their efforts?

I’m going to say 1 or 2, tops.  And we’d probably agree they are fringe thinkers.

One only needs to look at the social justice warrior members of Congress to understand how widespread that thinking is.

I do believe it is fringe thinking but there are a vast amount of people who subscribe to the “gimme gimme gimme because I belong to a certain group culture”.

And people would like to believe that the underclass is just lazy and could have whatever they want if they were merely willing to work twice as hard.

Fun fact: a capitalist society relies on a lot of people doing a lot of work that the most successful capitalists aren't willing to do. There's a strong motive to create a false division of "makers & takers" and fill it with ideological bulls#!t and systemic checks designed to keep people in their place.

Cool thing about capitalism is anyone can end up being a maker or a taker unless they have a mental disability which precludes them from that part of society.

Fun Fact:  Capitalism has created more wealth and brought more people out of poverty than any other system in the history of mankind. But hey, you seem to have gotten yours so keep everyone else down by trashing the one system designed to allow upward growth.

In many many cases yes.  Or work smarter.  And some people like you just want to blame the worlds problem on Capitalism while benefiting from that same system.

Ask your Black Friend who assured you that race is no longer a problem in the U.S.

will do.  I’ll do a Psaki and circle back soon with what I find out.   Can I ask all of them or just 1?

Who in Congress holds the beliefs you described?

You can start with “the squad”. Then move on to the Democrat CA delegation.

I’ve looked.  I’m going to need to see what you’re referring to because I can’t find anything they’ve said that they believe everyone should have the same outcome regardless of work or effort.

The closest thing I can find is Medicare for all and/or raising the minimum wage.  Not sure I would call that “same outcomes for all”.

Little help?

Wait. Are you suggesting I'M the person who has benefitted from Capitalism and now wants to hold back others from enjoying its fruit?

This might be your best strawman yet.

The "mental disability" slur was just the smug turd on your self-righteous sundae.

As you surely know, ever "ism" is prone to excess and abuse. Such is the case with Capitalism. You can reign in its worst tendencies without becoming a socialist. True fact.

Amazing. We have an attack on our government that we have never seen.  And, it’s not important to study it to see how it happened and who was all involved and to what extent?  Especially when some of those people are still in our government?

amazing.

Found this opinion piece on CNN. Part of it talks about the filibuster, and how Dems should table it versus killing it to push through their perceived mandate. This is to better position themselves for 2022. I agree. If they push through the policies they are talking about 2022 is gonna be a bad year for them.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/11/opinions/democratic-party-progressive-kool-aid-wierson-honan/index.html

1. Table, at least for now, plans of undoing the filibuster. Most Americans have about as much an idea of what the filibuster is as they do about the chemical composition of the Martian atmosphere -- which is to say not much. In a recent Monmouth University poll, 34% of Americans had no opinion on the filibuster whatsoever and another 34% approved of it. Even among Democrats in the poll, only 30% wanted it eliminated entirely. So, complaining about the filibuster on what seems a daily basis won't win Democrats in Washington, DC, many points. Kill the filibuster when you have votes to spare -- not when it's 50-50.
